Re: Team SEYCHELLES

OK, students pay attention at the back..

Another dose of COCONUT facts nerd

16 Coconut oil is liquid above 25C (75F), and below this it will be a solid fat. It can be stored in either form, and it can be liquidfied easily by applying low level heat.

17 The coconut seed is peculiarly adapted to dispersal by water because the large pod holding the nut is buoyant and impervious to moisure.

18 A well cared for coconut palm may yield 75-200 nuts annually.

19 The coconut has a hard woody shell, with three round scars at one end; the embryo lies against the largest scar and emerges through it as a developing plant.

20 The coconut palm can grow to a height of 30 m. (100 ft) The leaves are 4-6 m long.

Any questions? sad

Re: Team SEYCHELLES

Today's "interesting COCONUT facts..... nerd

21 The Pina Colada is one of many cocktails that uses coconut.
Mix 100ml fresh pineapple juice with 50ml coconut milk and 50ml white rum in a blender, blend. Add some crushed ice and blend again. Serve with a pineapple ring, etc.

22 Pure coconut water has virtually no fat, a little protein and provides carbohydrates in the form of sugar, which is responsible for its mildly sweet taste.

23 Coconut water has only 50 calories per glass. It could be considered a low calorie drink compared to fresh orange juice, which has 110 calories per 250ml glass.

24 The fresh nut contains about 50% water and about 30 to 40% oil.

25 Store coconuts in the fridge and eat within a week of purchase.

Join a team that gives you the facts, no hyper-inflated certificates here. biggrin
