Bearcat wrote: Actually, Multiple xeon CPU with a GPU works well but usually only 1 X16 PCI-E slot except for EVGA boards. Both of my dual xeon crunchers have a 7000 series AMD GPU. With the app_config file used now, I can crunch 10 GPU, and 10 on CPU. I leave 4 threads open.
---------------------------------------- This message doesn't make much sence to me, since I'm not aware of anyone being stupid enough to run multiple CPU-wu's at Folding@Home, and GPUGRID doesn't work with Amd-cards so... This should not be confusing. He is crunching 10 GPU WU on his AMD card which is installed in a dual hexcore system. It is a hyperthreaded system so he has 24 threads available. 10 of the CPU threads are used by the 10 GPU WU's, 10 more threads are crunching CPU WU's and 4 of the threads are open. Hope this helps. Cheers

Frankly I think this is a little like talking about your mistress in front of your wife. WCG should be your one, true love - your one and only. How can you people even look at another project. I . . I just don't know what to say. Why some people look at other projects/grids? Well, there's something to learn from those other projects/grids! Next, WCG-crunchers go back to WCG to press the goodies found in those other projects/grid for WCG to implement. Those said, any hint to extend the association to the wife-mistress analogy is purely coincidental. ![]() ![]() ; ; andzgridPost#762 ; |

Hello coolstream,
The HCC programs (CPU and GPU) run off the same supply of work units. So both HCC programs run out of work at the same time. Oh well. I have reported this upstairs. Merry Christmas! Lawrence |

POEM has more work now, and some of it may be related to cancer (see the post on Aurein in their forum).
I know, I will be accused of breaking up a marriage. But WCG says that I am no longer their highest priority, and I need to keep my GPU warm at night. |
