Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

While I don't have any Invailds (yet). I've done a random sampling of my pending's.

It seems that all those with restarts are running 6.10.58.
Maybe this has something to do with the version of Boinc and the WU's??

Qouting my own posting:

<core_client_version>5.10.21</core_client_version>
...
Commandline = wcgrid_mcm1_7.26_i686-pc-linux-gnu -SettingsFile
...
</stderr_txt>

<core_client_version>6.10.17</core_client_version>
...
Commandline = ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_mcm1_7.26_i686-pc-linux-gnu -SettingsFile MCM1_0000153_8607.txt -DatabaseFile dataset-
...
</stderr_txt>

<core_client_version>7.0.27</core_client_version>
...
Commandline = ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_mcm1_7.26_i686-pc-linux-gnu -SettingsFile MCM1_0000153_8607.txt -DatabaseFile dataset-
...

I don't think so. I'm running 7.0.27 and my cruncher got this invalid result. The 5.10.21 and the 6.10.17 are those with valid.

I've got 8 invalids now this morning, it's not the points lost but the time wasted. crying

You don't get the time for the invalids added to your total do you. confused

You do get some credit.

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Have now found a WU with three results in pending verification and a fourth computation in progress.
Two of the pending results seem to have been restarted. All results.out are different.
It will be exciting to see what result will be valid.

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

The WU that I restarted as test already validated OK. In case your were wondering, my wingman did not have a restart.

Cheers coffee

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Well my page of Invalids and page of Pending Verification have all gone! Has something happened to 'fix' the problem?

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Unless a tech posts to explain or 'we are investigating / will investigate', consider it an inconvenient truth ;).

I've set LAIM on, which was off since the v7.26 BETA, which let all cases for me go away. A client restart did not generate the issue for me [I did 5 point release upgrades on Friday/Saturday on one host **], only task unloads / resumes due user activity... most very strange.

The log reads "Initializing" twice, although i couldn't see the WU starting over (apart from resuming from the checkpoint correctly), being stuck or anything. However, i turned off Boinc and rebooted the system to update the GPU driver. As always, i let the tasks checkpoint first and suspend them before shutting down. All the other MCMs i had been running without turning Boinc off, without any inconclusive or invalid states.

Just in case this might help reducing the invalid results from techs' side.
