it was declared invalid, even though the Result.out value matched both wingmen whose results were declared valid. That is interesting. Perhaps either the techs or scientists can shed some light on this - after the holiday. Hope they enjoy Thanksgiving. Cheers

FTM, I've moved off MCM. The sum ratio of my devices is well above 5% getting the thumbs down mark [to include each time we have a power cycle which is frequent], and including the Too Late ending. As it's TG in the USA, not expecting action until next Monday earliest. It would depend if you are interested in badges or credits. Invalids only give half the credits, but, the full CPU time.....you takes your choice! ![]() |

I just noticed a WU that I'm my own wingman on different machines. One machine was booted so those 2 WU's (_0 and _1) are both PVer waiting for _2.

Tried to keep up with the batch of these that I had. Every one that went Invalid had the restart (two initializing in log). Interestingly, the Invalids didn't stay in my Results Status near as long as the others. I have to consider the possibility that they got changed to Valid but can't confirm that as I hadn't kept a list of the WU's. One day, they're listed as Invalid and the next, they're gone. I know entries fall out of Results Status but I would think the different types would do that as the same pace.

I've had another (MCM1_ 0000314_ 7544_ 1) go invalid in the same way as the one I posted about on 28/Nov. The other one I mentioned in that post is still PVer as the wingman had a different Result.out value and restarted even more times than mine.
I appreciate that these may indeed be invalid, but it would be good if a tech could find the time to check these out as there would appear to be potential issue, at least. |

Nearly everything in my cache is a re-send.
Its a good job I am running a very small cache, or they would never all complete in time. This surely cant be right. Why so many re-sends ? |

Probably from people like me. I had a host(octo) with a 25% invalid rate. I have since moved it to FAAH where it has not had a problem for months. Cheers

I dont mind doing them as long as they complete in time. There just seems to be an unusually large amount of them passing through here compared to usual. 2s, 3s and 4s. If its the same all over, its a lot of wasted processing time.

Hi Whl.,
The techs have not commented on this. At least, not since Uplinger ran a Beta test trying to track down a bug that showed up sometimes when MCM1 had to restart from the last check point. Some members have posted that some work units that restart from the last check point are still going bad. So I am avoiding reboots and anything that might remove a MCM1 work unit from memory.
