Wonder what it is the Shrubs manages to cause them to go invalid as whatever I did, 100% valid. Is there a processor homogeneity thing in play? Hopefully the 100K+ test results allow that to be statistically exposed [would have preferred a shorter deadline to auto-force them head of queue]. Still receiving sporadic [original] Beta now of a batch 0000634... a sample of the new comp [courtesy WCGDAWS]:

I've had a couple of invalids so far. I've got another few in progress that I've stopped and restarted also, so we'll see how they fare also.

I have had three go invalid - 2 on a machine with a restart and one on a machine with no restart.

I think that it is more strange that most off my betas, despite have a shorter deadline than my buffer, have not started. I have between 1.5-2.5 day buffer on my rigs.

To persuade BOINC to start shorter deadline tasks first, increase the
----------------------------------------Switch between applications every: x minutes value to a day or more, exact value depends on cache size and deadlines. I often have 4000 but this may cause panic in older BOINC versions and did not appear to work in 7.0.27 (waiting for stable release approved by WCG before upgrading). If too high older BOINC can panic by keep starting more tasks which may fill memory. Once increased short deadline tasks like betas and re-sends will jump the queue. Paul.

I tried on one rig to change the default 120 min to 3000 min. Didn't do any difference, yet. Michael ![]() |
