.....If you do such a post it may be worth noting that anything over 1.25gb of ram is not calculated in memory score. 300 is the max........2 x 512 and 1 x 256.= 300 ram score 1. it is 2 x 512 and 1 x 128 (3 x 384) = 1.125 GB = 1152 MB 2. it IS noted in my post @Graham: I will post the "RAM=POINTS" thing only here as adding memory does NOTHING for the project (the results will not be sent earlier, the PCs don't get faster), you only get more points. And THAT is something I want to know everybody in MOT but nobody in the other teams. Shhhhhhhttttt!!!!!!!! ![]() Best, Stefan. |

I'd like to make a request that somebody (and by "somebody" I mean Graham
![]() Join Our Top 3 Team Visit Website ![]() in my signature line. I would like to have something to put next to it, or replace it, that plugs the WCG effort in general and hints as to its puropse. Maybe something like resizing their banner of: ![]() and putting a tag line within it something like: "Join My OnLine Team at the World Computing Grid today and contribute to projects that benefit humanity." The idea being to arouse the curiosity of those to whom the name "My Online Team" and "WCG" is meaningless and make them want to click - just to find out more about it, if nothing else. |

parmesian wrote: "only problem is that with the program running as a service you can't click on the icon to see what progress is being made. you simply have to trust that it works and check out your stats as the points roll in." Actually there is a very simple way to check if all your systems are still running (very useful if you run more than a few): "My Grid", "Device Manager", "Device Statistics" and then simply check the "Last Result Returned" column. That always helps me to quickly verify if all of the farm are still running, without physically going to all machines to check. ![]() This works if you have high end machines - my PII has been working on a job for 5 1/2 days and is only 70% complete so for slow machines this method doesn't help. No, it works for all machines. You just have to change the default setting at the top where it shows only machines with results from within the last 7 days to "Anytime (All Devices)", or whatever the minimum is to show all your machines and see how long ago the oldest result is. Oh, be sure to hit "refresh". :) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 14, 2005 12:45:37 AM] |
