Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

Rebooted my OSX and Ubuntu machines while running the beta work units, everything seems to have gone well.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

Here's an AutoGrid error message I haven't seen before (it's on a wingman's errored unit):

------------
Result Name: BETA_ BETA_ 9999975_ 5210_ 1--
<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
The signal handler cannot be set. (0xd2) - exit code 210 (0xd2)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
INFO:[15:03:58] Start AutoGrid...

autogrid4: WARNING: Oxygen atom found with no bonded atoms, atom serial number 17, atom_type 4

autogrid4: WARNING: Oxygen atom found with no bonded atoms, atom serial number 1412, atom_type 4
------------

My own result and the other wingman seemed to complete normally, now both in PVal.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

I have seen the "RSA key check failed for file" errors in other projects and it turned out it was caused by a disk corruption - the referenced EXE files were damaged. A disk check or project reset might fix that.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

BETA_BETA_9999977_0630_0 is staying at 0.500% for more than 1 hour, though CPU time is increasing and checkpointing seems ok..

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

Checked the stderr.txt for my tasks and wingmen's tasks on those where both copies have been returned. My tasks show restarts from checkpoints and the wingmen ran theirs straight through. On all tasks checked so far, the result out is identical.

Thanks for all the feedback! If you have more feedback please feel free to post it here.

I show that we have 40,000+ results in progress. I will be holding onto the validator until more of those come back.

Thank you for your participation and patience,

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

I noticed that on my laptop, the betas were not respecting the preference to not run while computer is in use. Not sure whether that was the betas or the BOINC version (7.2.39 on Xubuntu). I had to leave for work right after noticing that; will check when I get home whether it happens with other kinds of WU.

I am not getting any new work, anyone knows if this batch is finished or are there still more WUs to distribute?
Thanks

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers Beta Test - Version 7.29 [ Issues Thread ]

Keith, I have no problem with checkpoints and restarts so far, but I noticed an unusual behaviour with this one last night:
BETA_ BETA_ 9999970_ 0476_ 1--
Maybe you would like to have a look at it.

It started computing as usual, 0.500 % for a while, then ticking regularly by 0.0xx % as usual at a pace that showed that it would be faster than usual, say less than 2 hours vs 5-8 hours for the majority of MCMs on this machine.

When I had a look at it some time later it was apparently stuck at 14.000 % and I watched it more closely. In fact it was now incrementing by whole percents, 15.000, 16.000, etc... for an estimated total run time still under 2 hours.
Why not?, so I let it go and every time I had a look at it later it was still showing whole percentages.

Now that it has been reported I had a look at its log and it looks much different than usual.
Hence my reporting it to you. smile
Good luck.
