Error-correcting code memory: BOINC Benefits

Your scribe has picked up a slightly ab(used) S20 ThinkStation, with a W3550 quad core Xeon, hardware RAID, and 12 Gb of ECC RAM.

(I like having the jerry-can handle on the top)

I'm not too worried about cosmic rays corrupting my bits, and guess that there's no real advantage for BOINC, given the huge numbers of machines crunching without ECC memory or CPUs.

Your thoughts on ECC and WCG projects?
