@SekeRob
----------------------------------------Will change that soon...didn't have a clue about that! Too bad...there are NONE stats for UDagent left... :/ Some projects use much less of the CPU than others; I've had good luck with Moo! Wrapper using very little CPU. While many people limit their CPU preferences to leave one open core to feed the GPU, I typically don't--and with all 4 cores crunching, Moo! will still maintain 90% utilization of the GPU. However, if you get a GPU project that needs more overhead to pass data back and forth, running all CPU cores will "starve" the GPU, greatly limiting its performance. I noticed that myself...while SETI@home is unintrusive as a spring breeze...GPUgrid is intrusive as a autumn shower with windy condition! ;) |

I neglected to mention that I am running Windows Technical Preview Build 9879 and that I run F@h with "slightly higher" priority.

After some digging, I've realized that there is currently no work available for GPUs through WCG. I have an ATI Radeon 290 (OC) that I'd love to put to some good use besides the obvious. What projects are WCG members contributing their GPUs to, if any? I imagine I could have WCG crunching 100% on my CPU, while another project is solely crunching on my GPU. Ive running GPUGrid (4 Cards), Einstein (2 cards) and Milkyway (with a HD7950 specially buyed only for WCG HCC back then) |

I run GPUGRID on 2 x GTX670 and a GTX660Ti and also POEM@home on my AMD iGPU systems.

"only two projects worthy of your ATI"
Taking trash about other BOINC projects is really uncool. Speaking up for projects you care about does not require that you put down other projects. As for listening for aliens, when a radio communication transmission from outside our solar system is confirmed, that date will forever be remembered as one from which the future is measured. |

Well, I was not referring to the projects...I was referring to the experience with the work in office!
----------------------------------------So crunching on Quadro 2000 on 24" monitor with 1050p...and working in Win7 enviroment: Excel & Access tabels, AutoCAD, some other programs - buggy behavior...even in Opera surfing! For CREO I have expected to SNOOZE the GPUs...but not for others! Also, at home I can run Star Trek Online on GT 730 & SETI@home at the same time...no problems there! ;) The people which write codes, should make priorities for all the people which work & crunch...one priority when the GPU shuts of the monitor or locks the screen & lower when we work with computer... ;) |
