From what I've noticed it seems like a lot of you are using ancient BOINC clients. Mine works fine and I'm running the latest v7.6.22 from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

edit: I guess the people using old versions decided to download BOINC from the WCG website, which will probably always be behind the curve, and I wouldn't recommend it for security reasons alone (ancient versions of OpenSSL).

Bwilliant comment [/sarc], the WCG version, the official and endorsed 7.2.47, is against which one would expect WCG to test any change/implementation, albeit, hardly ever do we see a field test of any of this, not even the last official version had a beta test [IIRC].

What an odd reply. You sarcastically mock my suggestion followed by seemingly dismissing the idea of using the "approved version" (read: ancient version) as bad due to your bad past experiences with said old version.

So in other words, you agree that people should try my suggestion?

If anxious to clear Ready to Report, you may hit the update button under the Project tab of the BOINC Manager Advanced view [after selecting the WCG line entry]. These normally clear when new work is requested... a combination of communications to reduce the number of connects. Ready to Report means that all related uploads were successful, this then acting as the secondary confirmation that both sides, server and client are on the same page.

Up to 49 "Ready to report" MCM WU's which remain after a reboot of the only PC that has the problem.

Well things are not going well for this one system. I still have 49 WUs w/ Ready to report status but nothing else as I have not been able to download new WU on this PC.

No, do not download BOINC from the WCG website. That's an old version of BOINC that uses libraries which contain multiple security vulnerabilities. If you value security, always download the latest stable version of BOINC from the official BOINC website, not the "repackaged" version here.

Also, I would recommend you first download the new version from the BOINC website and install over your current version to see if it resolves your issue, before doing a clean uninstall.

1. Reinstalled WCG using repair option. Problem Remains

2. Uninstalled WCG and Installed WCG. Problem Unchanged

3. Uninstalled WCG and Installed BOINC. Problem remains unchanged.

Now what?

Set WCG to No new tasks. In your data directory C:\ProgramData\BOINC open the cc_config.xml with Notepad and look for the following entry:

<max_tasks_reported>0</max_tasks_reported>

Change the number to 5 or 10 (something small), save and exit Notepad, then in BOINC Manager click on Read config files, update WCG project and see if any tasks are able to be reported. If that entry doesn't exist, then add it to cc_config.xml

I get the same messages as above (80 wu waitin) then a new one
You used the wrong URL remove project and add http;//findah.ucd.ie/
I repaired and restarted. Removed and restarted (but the 80 wu are still waiting).
Still not fixed. What next? This is just one of my computers. The others are fine. Bad one is win8. OK computers are win7 , win8.1, win10.
