Any calculation based on data from the research page is suspect. By the tech's own admission, the research page isn't very accurate but the best they have at this point. They were supposed to come up with something else at the end of last year but it must not have percolated to the top of the list. Garbage in, garbage out. Agreed. Hence the "roughest of estimates." Cheers

Actually, calc for 4% on 20.01.2017. was not done by research page data at all. It was all BOINC server data. ![]() |

It's 15th today, so here's the new ECD:
----------------------------------------![]() Comments: - OET is coming along nicely - FAHB & HST1 got some speed up of 1/2 month earlier - SCC1 slowed down for a week, but it's still only 1/2 of project done - MCM1 got some speed up for 1 month earlier - ZIKA for some BIG speed up to 5 months, probably reduced time in WUs - MIP is still early, soon getting to 4% & slowed down for a month - FAAH is on pause, so it's in GREY. Adjust your personal weight of the projects accordingly. ![]() |

----------------------------------------Thanks as always for this useful service. What does this mean:" ZIKA for some BIG speed up to 5 months, probably reduced time in WUs"? Does this mean the there will be a lot of small WU? ![]() |

KLiK Thanks as always for this useful service. What does this mean:" ZIKA for some BIG speed up to 5 months, probably reduced time in WUs"? Does this mean the there will be a lot of small WU? Well, when you compare: - https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=560137 to this - https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=561692 so the ECD from 1st Jan was on 06.8.2021., but on 15th of Jan was on 15.3.2021. Difference is 5 months. As I didn't observe more "weight of the project" on WCG BOINC servers, which can be checked on SNURK data here: http://www.wcgsig.com/projects.html So only other explanation is that we all are going through ZIKA more quickly then previously expected. But if I was you, I'd use mid date in 2020. for ZIKA ECD, as some projects will end before ZIKA & their computational power will be given then back to all other projects on WCG. Hope this answers all your questions. ![]() |

Yes it does. I have just been here 18 months and I am going to focus on it to get to my third 5 Y diamond. It appears that other people are getting around to also focus on it since it just started up on May 16.

Small suggestion: ZIKA is also using Vina app science from SRI & WCG, so you don't need ONLY to get computer power to get the badges...you can use Android devices also, which come can be cheaper than computers! ![]() |

Good suggestion. In the past 12 months, I have caught the bug big time 3 laptops (2 with cracked screens) I have also bought 2 used intel I5 desktops that just run WCG and warm the cats on cold nights!!!
