Thank you, Kevin.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for a Happy New Year. The next full report will be next year! 7 days have passed since the last full report. In that time, the last of the ultra laggards has moved on 4 generations to generation 058 and their leader has also moved on 4 generations to 068 and is now only 11 generations behind the oldest stuck unit. 130 units have been referred to Delft as being stuck. They appear to consist of generation 079 x 1, 084 x 3, 086 x 1, 087 x 1, 088 x 13, 089 x 23, 090 x 14, 091 x 16, 092 x 7, 093 x 8, 094 x 5, 095 x 4, 098 x 17, 099 x 10, 100 x 1 102 x 2 plus 4 others. Kevin tried something with 3 of them. 1 managed to move up a generation and then stop. The other 2 have not moved. The last of the other extreme generations is 105 and their leader has moved on 2 generations to 108. The last of the accelerated generations is 109 and their leader is 113. The current leading generation is 123. Each of those leaders has moved on 2 generations so the definition for extreme laggard is still -15 generations with accelerated remaining at -10 generations. There are still 5 extremes other than the 6 ultras. It may be that only the 6 ultras will qualify for triplets soon. There are 146 units in the extreme generations. Ignoring the 6 ultras and 130 stuck we are left only 10, half of which were probably created before their generation became extreme. 56,739 units have been validated in the last 7 days (up to 8,105.6 per day). 6 units are in the ultra category, 130 stuck, 10 other units are in the extreme category and 6,314 in the accelerated (priority) generations. Those figures are higher than Kevin's report, presumably because many in those generations were not priority when issued. There are now 2,400,595 units to be crunched to finish the project assuming that a full generation 182 is the last. My target for completion is now calculated as 17 October 2022. That is 20 days earlier than my last summary, assumes everyone works as now until the last day and reflects the increase in work returned. It is likely that we will see the project finish before the end of 2022 due to the efforts to close up the laggards. My guess would be October 2022 assuming those university computers come back on line. Mike |

Mini update!
The leading ultra is now 9 generations behind the last of the stuck units. One of the stuck units in generation 084 has moved on 2 generations after being stuck for 6 weeks and the other 2 have moved on 1 generation. The 4 unidentified stuck units appear to be generations 105 & 108 (3). The leading generation, the leading accelerated (priority) and the leading extreme generation have all moved on 1 generation to 124, 119 & 114 respectively. The definitions remain -10 & -15. There was a slight increase in the validations so the forecast is now 8 October 2022. Mike |

A quick note. The test of changing the time-step was successful and the test workunits are moving forward. As a result, all of the workunits in the same situation have had the same time-step modification applied and they are now running. This gets about 60 of the stuck work-units moving again.
The other 70 look like they will need to be backed up a couple of generations and then have the same change applied. I won't be able to get to that until next week. However at that point we will then have all of the workunits moving again. |

Thanks for the update Kevin. It is great news that they have a solution.

Thank you Kevin
The three test cases were from generation 084. Two of them have reached 086 and the other 088. I suspect that they did not have extreme status until after their first move. The leading ultra is now only 8 generations behind the last stuck unit which is in generation 079. The leading stuck units appear to be those in generation 108. The 10 extreme units at todays's report appear to be the 6 ultras plus the 3 unstuck units and 1 other. Mike |

I can report that there has been substantial movement of stuck units - thank you, Kevin.
The leading ultra is only 7 generations behind the last stuck unit. The calculated completion date is now 1 October 2022. Mike |

Just found a couple of priority jobs for generation 115 sitting in my queue.

Mini update!
The leading ultra is now 6 generations behind the last of the stuck units. Lots of those stuck units are now progressing well. The leading generation, the leading accelerated (priority) and the leading extreme generation have all moved on 1 generation to 125, 120 & 115 respectively. The definitions remain -10 & -15. There was a slight increase in the validations so the calculated end date is now 30 September 2022. Mike |

Thank you, entity. Glad someone is reading my posts. It should be 125, 115 & 110!
