Re: Work Available

Sorry. I don't understand what is hinky. I'm missing something.

It just doesn't seem very efficient, and very weak at tracking what is where.

I'm generally a fan of effectiveness over efficiency (which is an over-rated metric), but somebody should be keeping an eye on efficacy.

Stuff sitting unprocessed for days on end invites waste.

Anyway, am all out of WGC work for now (since I can't run MCM on account of Endless Loop Of Doom), so have fired up Rosetta for a while.

Re: Work Available

I have not received an ARP for days, SCC returns nothing but errors as they have not fixed it yet, and MCM just dribbles in 1 or 2 at a time with not even enough to keep a 8 thread machine busy. I am shutting everything down again except for one machine until the supply of something stabilizes.
Cheers

Re: Work Available

I got 1 ARP resend last night (I should buy a lotto ticket). It is from gen 139.

The scripts says that 1500 to 1600 results are returned each day, so WUs are still trickling in. It looks like they are resending those without 2 results returned, and then validating and sending new as needed to fill the small queue that is trickling out. None of my pvs has validated in 2 days, personally though.

Now would be the perfect time to flood the system with ARP, as none of the other projects is flowing very well.

MCM is flowing normally here. No problems keeping 4 cores busy. I'm running a 2 day cache.

Re: Work Available

I have a 139 resend as well, which naturally already has two PV and no errors. Otherwise, I have 42 of my own ARP work units in PV hell.

Re: Work Available

I really am lucky today. I got 2 new generation 137 ARPs just now. That will keep me busy for a while. I hope you all get a few in your queues today.

Yeah, I wondered, too, what was going on (a pleasant surprise! biggrin ): just received a brandnew ARP1-task from generation 128: smile

Re: Work Available

Just found a 115 in my woodpile, still waiting to run: ARP1_0033787_115_0

And, much to my surprise, for the first time in a while I see a validated unit ARP1_0006167_139_2 among my recent contributions... maybe we might see these things move for a change?

Re: Work Available

Finally, here is a humongous list of Extreme workunits that I found, issued on this 18th of May 2023 (that is already past history here in Europe).
The list is not complete, but at least it's a start. biggrin
(Dear spRocket, thanks for your contribution, I've excluded your workunit from the list, there's probably no need to repeat it here. biggrin )
Some of the workunits have never been acknowledged as Extreme before, others had their last run in 2022 and are now here running for the first time in 2023.
Let's hope they will all run without erroring out.
The workunits below are divided in two colums, both contain the same set of workunits. The lefthand side is sorted by grid cell, the righthand side is sorted by generation number.

Adri

That is a good haul of extremes. 2.3% of 2,357.

I presume that they all have a deadline of 36 hours. If any get no replied by a wingman could you please advise what deadline the re-send gets? 18 hours?

Mike
