Stop all presses: Donald J Trump is now promoting oleandrin, which will cure covid-19 in 2 days.
https://www.axios.com/trump-covid-oleandrin-9...19-af3a-65ebad113d41.html Whitney has claimed to administration officials that oleandrin cures COVID-19 in two days, according to a source familiar with his private comments. Sorry, but where there's money to be made, the nutcases run out the gate. |

CDC has given 'guidance' on testing for people that have 'recovered' from COVID-19, v,v, the rapid loss of antibodies afterwards. They don't need testing again for 3 months for this infection should a person go ill again i.e. it's assumed the person is safe for 3 months. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html today Scientists see signs of lasting immunity to COVID-19, even after mild infections https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/08/16/nation...en-after-mild-infections/ There's the antibodies disappearing, but then there's those special T-cells and B-Cells with long term memory. Even some who have a good, albeit asymptomatic response, seem to possess a defense from past encounters with a corona virus in terms of 'hey old foe, I know you from somewhere before' Here's hoping. |

"Australian researchers are testing a breakthrough treatment for Covid-19 derived from the humble pineapple.
Cancer specialist Professor David Morris, from St George Hospital in Sydney, and his team have repurposed a drug he had already developed to treat cancer patients. The drug, BromAc – which is made with an enzyme found in pineapples -was found to dissolve the spike proteins that Covid-19 uses to infect human cells. It has been repurposed into a nasal spray that researchers hope will stop the virus' spread from the nose and throat to the lungs. A trial on patients at the Royal Melbourne Hospital could start next month." Source : https://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/art...d=6&objectid=12357695 |

We now have the best evidence yet that everyone develops long-term coronavirus immunity after infection — and it's not just about antibodies:

Artificial Antibodies Bolster Hope for Inhaled Coronavirus Treatment
Researchers have developed an inhalable artificial coronavirus antibody that they say “straitjackets” the SARS-CoV-2 virus and appears (in laboratory, albeit still non-clinical, tests) to impede its ability to infect. [. . .] They say this inhalable COVID prophylaxis/treatment could ideally be ready for public release as soon as “a matter of months.” The protein they’ve developed, called mNb6-tri (which they’ve dubbed “AeroNabs”), clamps efficiently and tenaciously atop the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, hindering the coronavirus’s ability to infect human cells. And, so far as the researchers have been able to determine, once mNb6-tri locks on to the spike protein, it doesn’t readily come off. That appears to be great news for everyone but the coronavirus.
