It's not good for the GPU to go from hot to cold and back all the time when tasks runs out. That's a sure way to break any electronic device. (Understand now why I call myself Grumpy Swede?) ![]() Mine is kept warm with Milkyway ![]() Ah well, since I have no interest in any other project, I guess "it is what it is". |

Ah well, since I have no interest in any other project, I guess "it is what it is". Einstein is another to keep your GPU warm while waiting and you won't be wasting electrons idling. ![]()

I suspect I have an older version of OpenCL. How do I check, please?

is there any possibility to just get these opng tasks from WCG without getting any cpu tasks? would like to run another projekt on the cpu.

I suspect I have an older version of OpenCL. How do I check, please? Mike Shut down then restart the BOINC client. Look at the log file. All the info about your CPU/GPU is at the top.

Turn off cpu usage in your profile to just get the gpu tasks.

If patterns continue, we will see 81,600 GPU tasks a day, and 1,038,000 CPU tasks a day. Hopefully this improves - what's the purpose of waiting 9 years for a new GPU project & the programming effort so a task runs 500 times faster if the vast majority of batches are still reserved for CPUs? Keep in mind that new projects start out slowly(on purpose). Also - 81,600 GPU work units is actually several times as much work as 1,038,000 CPU work units. CPU work units have 1-3 jobs(ok, some really small jobs have 4 or 5) in one work unit. The GPU units have a range of approximately 30-70. ![]() |

How quickly are these work units going?
I've had about 45 minutes with no work units (the log says No tasks are available for OpenPandemics - COVID-19 - GPU) |
