It's either a problem with the windows driver for that card, or (more likely) a problem with the windows_nvidia opng application with that card.

even during beta that level of card had consistent issues on windows, but works on linux.

don't think you'll be able to get a GT710 working on anything but linux

Re: GPU Work Units - Post Your Tech Support Questions Here

Ok, something is still seriously messed up, at least with the OPNG WUs on Macs.

I saw a WU earlier today on my Mac, which seemed to run for a change (previously, the Betas all bombed out immediately), but when I now checked a few hours later, the result shows up as "too late". With the result returned 40min after it had been received!

And to make matters worse, two other wingmen each before and after are showing "invalid" results.

Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot!?!?!?!

Any admin care to explain what is going on here (those Mac WUs bombing out as Betas was never commented on sad )

This is not only for MAC, but also.
The Admins and Researcher do all things to find a new way for our tasks.

There is a thread about this issue, Uplinger has posted in it several times:

Well, that thread doesn't really explain the problem...

In the thread that goben_2003 pointed out, it is explained what Too Late means in this situation:
Result Name AVN Status Sent Time Due / Return Time CPUh Claimed/Granted
OPNG_0002354_00038_4-- 728 Invalid 4/16/21 15:30:08 4/16/21 16:10:14 0.02 0.1/0.0
OPNG_0002354_00038_2-- 728 Invalid 4/16/21 15:30:01 4/16/21 15:32:09 0.01 0.1/0.0

Re: GPU Work Units - Post Your Tech Support Questions Here

Changing driver on Windows box didn't make any difference. Got this error. Any ideas?

If you did a clean of the drivers and there are no remnants left over from any other previous driver then I have no other ideas. Does your BOINC log at startup show your card as being OpenCl 1.2 compatible? If it does and you're still getting errors then I have no other suggestions.

ok, thanks anyways. Unfortunately I did a clean install and the log shows as OpenCL 1.2 compatible but all to no avail. Hopefully they fix it in the future. Still hoping the Linux box pans out.

I am glad to hear that. I have a 2GB version running on Ubuntu for the last several days and its never even gotten a single WU. That's in spite of it being precisely programmed to ask twice every 5 minutes. I know there isn't much work now but there was days ago. Hopefully they load enough units I can get a few to test it. My Linux box is a big monster so there is plenty of room to run cards in it.

Re: GPU Work Units - Post Your Tech Support Questions Here

Server's WU validity voting system may be letting Invalid WUs pass:
(but maybe not)

I've just checked through some of my recent OPNG Invalid results. In the great majority of cases, all wingmen also returned results deemed Invalid, or Server Aborted, or Too Late if they returned their result after the WU was declared bad.

However, in 2 cases there were WUs with 3 copies Invalid, and 2 Valid.
Do these WUs get classified as Valid, and returned to the scientists as such?
It only takes 2 of the devices to get the same erroneous result (like 2 viruses or cancer cells in different parts of the world happening to get the same successful mutation independently), and you could have a breach of the validation system.
Or are such cases returned as Inconclusive?
