what I noticed this afternoon: tasks from the OPNG_0133848 series get some more credit points: +/- 900.
----------------------------------------Processing time also is a little bit longer. [Edit 1 times, last edit by erich56 at Jan 23, 2022 2:39:41 PM] |

Hmmm, still not enough credit. Better for sure, but they need to base it off what people were getting prior to these long WUs IMO.

The ideal way for credit to work is to formulate an proper and accurate estimated flops value for each work unit. Then assign credit based on runtime and the flops performance of the device. This way more difficult tasks (more flops = more computation time) will automatically be awarded more credit. And it should scale appropriately if the device flops are properly recorded client side.
----------------------------------------Or Standardize the WU size, so that ALL WUs are the same size and difficulty computationally, then assign static credit reward. That way no matter what device completes it, it gets the same credit, and faster devices earn more points relative to how many tasks they complete. This is a very fair system and will remove the cheating element by client side flops reporting manipulation. Both options require some adjustment from the project’s side in how they form their WUs. ![]() EPYC 7V12 / [5] RTX A4000 EPYC 7B12 / [5] RTX 3080Ti + [2] RTX 2080Ti EPYC 7B12 / [6] RTX 3070Ti + [2] RTX 3060 [2] EPYC 7642 / [2] RTX 2080Ti |

today, I have had several cases of WUs with "Error", e.g.:
see here Is anyone else making the same experience? |

today, I have had several cases of WUs with "Error", e.g.: see here Is anyone else making the same experience? Yes, I've had one Error WU like that on 2 different machines. Nothing has changed on either machine. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/129781511 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/128792135 |

none of my machines has downloaded new WUs for the past several hours.
Anyone making the same experience? |
