For all I know, this has been a one-man job -- ME Don't I know it. There are reasons why I haven't joined a team. Yall have highlighted several of those reasons. In the end, ANYONE who is actively working on these projects as a member of the WCG is a "team member" to me. ![]() A bit of Team comradie and competition amongst your team mates can help to make crunching a bit more exciting and help to make the common goal a bit more enjoyable ![]() |

Is there anyway for a team captain to kick a member off of a team? No, there is not. All you can do is to convince them to join another team. They then will show up as retired on YOUR team. But worse than the deadweight is that I am the only member of HomeBrewers who, to my knowledge, has ever posted anything on WCG forums, or any other grid forum, for that matter. There are many silent crunchers out there. What's amazing is the number not on ANY team and that do not want to join them. It's free points for both the member and team. Otherwise the team points would just be lost.

Fear not Bill....
I crunch, read the posts, and even tried a bit of recruiting on the AussieHomeBrewer forum.... I think those three who are members without points are all a result of my effort on AHB, plus maybe a few who also contribute points. Cheers! Rob SNIP But worse than the deadweight is that I am the only member of HomeBrewers who, to my knowledge, has ever posted anything on WCG forums, or any other grid forum, for that matter. So I don't know if any members of my team read any of these posts, or know about our contest, or are doing much, if anything, to recruit. SNIP Cheers. Bill Velek, Team Captain of the ... |

A bit of Team comradie and competition amongst your team mates can help to make crunching a bit more exciting and help to make the common goal a bit more enjoyable My-oh-my.... at the peer pressure! Ya know... some of us are less socially motivated. ![]() Acutally, this has been quite exciting and enjoyable as is. I've been digging through cabinets, and boxes, and going over old systems that have been idle for who knows how long.... just to get a few more systems configured and running. If nothing else, it's motivating me to clean up some junk that is laying around. I just don't want to scrap something I'll "need" later. Hmm... perhaps I'll join a team. I'm not really "anti-social"....... just picky. ![]() - j |

I appreciate your help, and I didn't mean to appear to be trying to grab all the glory. I just didn't know anyone else was active on our HomeBrewers team besides the crunching part. Anyway, the other good news is that when I came home I noticed that HomeBrewers have picked up another recruit. ... So here are the team standings as of now: BitBenderTech (BBT): started 2/2 with 36 current members = (39-36)/(16-2)/36= 0.0060 HomeBrewers (HB): started 2/2 with 33 current members = (41-33)/(16-2)/33= 0.0173 SuperBytesBelgium (SBB): started 2/8 with 61 current members = (66-61)/(16-8)/61= 0.0102 UserFriendly (UF): started 2/1 with 160 current members = (257-160)/(16-1)/160= 0.0404 VultureCentralIII (VC3): started 2/7 with 23 current members = (23-23)/(16-7)/23= 0.0000 Only 12 days left, and we need to decide when February ends. Team stat updates appear on my computer at about 1830 hours (6:30p.m.) Central Standard Time. I don't know if that's a single update for the entire globe, or if it is regional or whatever. I'll agree to whatever anyone wants; we just need to get it set before the last day in case this somehow turns into a close race. Cheers. Bill Velek |

To some of us you are more than a teammate, you are family and we are glad you are here. Thank you... very much. I'm acutally quite glad to be here. I've enjoyed doing my part. A good friend of mine isn't on WCG, but he does other things. He's going to participate in an AIDS Walk to raise money next month. He's also done some rather emotionally draining volunteer work before. I have a few other friends that have done simular things to help fight AIDS, or cancer, or... some other nasty disease. I wish more people would do SOMETHING.... ANYTHING. -j |

I don't know if that's a single update for the entire globe, or if it is regional or whatever. An easy question, finally. WCG uses UTC. The team stats update at midnight. So, on the 1st, we can tally up the final scores. 29-1 will give the full 28 days for UF. |
