Hi Million Point ManI imagine that a great number of BOINC Users are going to get impatient with the change They may take the stance that as a volunteer they have done their part and therefore should not be made to wait unnecessarily to get their work validated Before the change I usually had around 12 to 14 WU's pending validation at any given time I now have a backlog of 30 WU's awaiting validation and I can see the backlog continuing to rise The fact that a lot of members download additional work units out of paranoia, unnecessarily, as they are afraid that they may run out of work, just has the effect of compounding the situation even further In my humble opinion, points are still the most compelling reason to continue volunteering one's PC's to this very worthy cause, as they represent an accurate measure of a members efforts regarding his contribution I helieve that increasing the waiting time of points validation will have an adverse effect In the last 18 months I have never read a post from a member complaining about losing a work unit It has always been a complaint about points not being credited for work believed to have been returned Graham, I think you are spot on... when my wife (who is a healthcare professional) says "what is this boinc cr*p on my computer" I tell her it is medical research and that usually shuts her up.  For me though the points and ranking are important... just for fun you understand, but I have just got back into the top 500 WCG crunchers  and that was cool... Interestingly if the WCG team didnt think it was an incentive then they wouldnt have started issuing points... in my experience of paying salesmen it tends to be emotive if you mess around with their rewards they get grumpy...In the positive side I only have 23 awaiting validation at the moment... maybe the pain is over and we are getting back to normal levels of scoring..... one more day and I should get my 50K MOT certificate... |

Hi MillionPointManYour Stats on the page in the link below update every 6 hours That is how I was able to ascertain your points increase since the 12:10am update earlier this morning Your Team Points only get reported on our Team page every 24 hours, although you have already exceeded 50k in points for the team http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewSt...&numRecordsPerPage=50 |

Lots going on since I got laid up. Welcome to all of the new folks that have joined while I was hospitalized. And, congrats to all of you that have hit milestones as well. It looks like you have all kept Graham working preparing all of the certificates! Great dedication! I am still not up to par and have to spend most of my time with my foot elevated. I don't have good circulation in that leg and it is worse when I sit at the PC. At least both of my systems are back up and running. I guess we took some power hits while I was in the hospital and there is a one month gap in my stats  .Graham -- your graphics are awesome. I don't know where you find the time! Hopefully things will get better and let me spend more time here in the forums. I really do miss spending time in here with the greatest team in the WCG! |

     He has had an exceptional month of crunching He's contributed 58,753 Points in 28 days That is an average of 2098 points per day He's certainly getting his rigs back up to speed |
