Re: Are there any really clever people out there........

If talking about the same 'Pratchett' a few teeny factos:

a. still holds the record for the most shoplifted books
b. (not my words) sells -- to put it bluntly -- more books than God

Now I wasn't expecting that thinking

Despite a Bank Holiday Monday

Is the end of May Bank Holiday just a UK phenomena?

Tuesday kicks derrières again

Re: Are there any really clever people out there........

Once upon a time there was a Dutchman called Johnny de Zelfkikker, who took a handdrill and put it thru his forehead to expand the space for his brain......Johnny is nolonger, but not because of what he did!

Now, 14 days into the new quorum regimen and distribution timing, we're still several years cpu time behind on a daily basis and pretty much half a days production (65 years) have disappeared from the 'new' cumulative total.....the 65000 dollar question (1k per year) are now forming firmer:

  • can that be equated to higher efficiency
  • can it be attributed to the still not stabalised, increasing "pending validation" Cache
  • Have people left (could not understand as we've added 6 or 7 thousand new members since)

Since we've had a horses mouth attestation on recent percentages of return 4 / 7/ >7 days (96%, 2%, 2% respectively), the 2 percent could not possibly be attributable to those drops, as the rule for cut off over 7 days has only been in force like 48 hours.....the 3 week units are still out there for the 2% group.

brainstorming required....inlet was established, now maybe drill an outlet .....time for coffee

and who wrote "i'll be a monkey 's uncle".....a new connotation, as we now know that SIV in Chimpansees has made them immune to HIV.....wishing he was laughing

Have a very nice day biggrin

Re: Are there any really clever people out there........

patience patience patience

The 3 things you need with grid computing

Bear with it we'll pull through

The Summer holidays are starting to have an effect. (The majority of the Globes population are Northern Hemispherers) Take a look at last years stats from now until October the figures will be down.

What we need is that constant stream of new crunchers joining us in this endevour

Anyone ready to take up the crunching challenge?

Dave

biggrin Re: Are there any really clever people out there........

btw i completely 'managed' my pending validation cache away down to zero...took 2 weeks of abiding to the new rules.....still running 24/7, the only thing holding up would be 'inconclusives', the last one of May 20 just got approved......quarter into the day and already 1365 points.

PS to make sure, all "in progress" are returned, fully crunched within 60 hours .... the rest of the recipe remains my secret dancing

Trepanning is an ancient (and stupid) practice.

Don't do this at home. In fact, best not to do it ever.

Re: Are there any really clever people out there........

I can tell you why you seen the strange peaks on Saturday and Sunday we set the agents to only run during off peak times so as to not interfere with classes.
Also now that classes are out, we are loading more clients into RCTCGrid. That is the reason for the increase in numbers.
-Melchior

Rochester is the bizarrest (I think that might be a word) graph I have ever seen on a Grid peaks at the weekend !!! Flat as a pancake the rest of the week - weird

When that WU size changes in this case shorter it flushes out all of those stored up Flops. Just wait until the Monsters return

Looking at the stats from this time last year and we were floating around the 60 years a day mark - just shows how far we have come since then.

This Supercomputer of ours gets faster by the week. To all out there crunching you are doing a grand job.

Don't go switching off

Dave
