Re: My unusual HPF2 work units

Charlie @ Quark3, cant see where you are (put your country in your forum profile plz), but July 13/14 suggests that you're just west of the international dateline + 24 hours.

Your Version 5.0.5.2 you're crunching with, is a problematic HPF2 software version. Please see post in this thread of July 8 on how to cancel after understanding that no lines are drawn in the 3 lines graphs, and the % progress bar in the 'i' screen are not moving or absent.

Re: My unusual HPF2 work units

Sekerob,

I really am not that calendar challenged but I did enter the wrong dates. Tues was the 11 and today is the 12th. I am in the Eastern US. Sorry for any inconvienience.

I ended the HPF2 exec in task manager by mistake (am working from home trying to get over Lyme disease...I guess it's making my head fuzzy). I also terminated UD_7605051.exe. I am going to reboot the laptop and see what happens in a while. Will let you know.

Do I need (does there exist) a later version of the program I can load?

Re: My unusual HPF2 work units

Unless your FAAH was also stuck, you should not have killed UD_76xxx.exe. No need to boot. The killl would tell WCG that you want a new WU (Work Unit). If there is a new version of the Agent or the science software, for HPF2 v 5.0.5.3 and understand an even newer one will be send out on the next opportunity, you will get it downloaded. That download is going to be in the range of 9 to 12mb.

Lime, hmmmm, tick bite....had one a few years ago, big rash and swollen glands in neck, but was quick, so the actual decease could net set thx to wide spectrum penicillin.

Now fly your flag and put USA in the your forum profile and the My Grid Profile. Helps the country stats...e.g. USA v Europe hahaha, and also allows for prioritizing support efforts.....if you're eyes shut, the CA's don't need to rush.

get well

ciao

Re: My unusual HPF2 work units

Sekerob,

Thanks for your help. I expect this disease will last another few days at least until the drugs get it.

Rebooted and is now doing the AIDS work just fine.

By the way, my old desktop (QUARK2, 367517) just finished HPF2 processing without error and is also on the AIDS program now. Both are at the same level.

I quess the grid will sort everything out eventually. I am a member of the IBM Poughkeepsie team. Will update my profile.

BOINC User ID 225561, Host ID 41341.

Error #11: za097_ 00498, returned 07/12/2006 17:47:03, 3 other copies also errors, 2 other copies still in progress, aborted after ~35 minutes of normal checkpoints with exit code 10, Exception code: 0xc0000005, Exception address: 0x00488EB6.

Another fast-crashing good debugging candidate.

Re: A few unusual HPF2 work units

I'm aborting HPF2 workunit after 27 hours at 6.7 % - the graphic is moving but there are no numbers in the score box.

UD Agent
Device ID: 149722
Agent version 3.0 (2844)
Terminated at 19:03 CST (GMT-6) July 12th

I was going to post earlier, but when I tried to reply to this topic ... it said the statistics were being updated and try again later ... why is the forum tied to the statistics update ?

Robert.

Re: A few unusual HPF2 work units

robert1p, you can still post during stats update by hitting the forum button up top, then log in. Only time you cant is when the weekly backup runs on Sunday about 10:00 am CET and lasts about 30 minutes.

Re: A few unusual HPF2 work units

Hello!

I have got another one of these WUs.

UD Agent
on P T1300 solo 1.66 GHz, 2GB RAM, 3GB Pagefile, CPU throttle at 100%
Device ID: 392915
WU downloaded at 07/11/06 13:09:19 UTC
HPF2 V5.0.5.3

Behavior is the same as I posted earlier in this thread for another WU.

The WU was stuck at 0% with graphs on the left side of the i screen nearly half way along the range, and min and max values displayed for each graph.
After minimize and restore of the UD window the graphs, min and max values were cleared.
No progress since then. Runtime now over 8 hours.

Something that caught my attention: The H-Bonds max value was at 0.00 when the graphs were still there, and the H-Bonds graph was at about that value. I remember that this was the same with my other WU. Is there a problem when H-Bonds gets positive values??

Perhaps this information helps to find a solution for these problem WUs.

Best regards

Thorsten
