Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I'm seeing mostly valid results from all my workers, though a few machines (one in particular) are getting a lot of Error results that look exactly like this:

<core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version>

Have you tried a newer version of boinc? Not saying it would fix it but it's worth a try.
Edit: Looks like it a batch problem. Hopefully they resolve it soon.

I will give a new version a try soon and see if that helps anyway.

Upgraded to the latest yesterday afternoon... still getting lots of those Errors... I guess I'll just leave it alone, it's crunching other projects too and it seems it throws away these errors quickly so it's not wasting much CPU time on them...

Check out this thread. It seems they are dealing with some errors on HPF2 here. If you you are running only this project on a multi-core machine it seems to have this problem. Try mixing up the jobs between projects or only allocate a couple of cores to HPF2.

Hope this helps

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Am not getting this problem on my 8 core mac. The mac only runs HPF2. Its windows causing it I believe.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Could not believe the beautiful weather today. I think it got to about 45F or about 7C and sunny. Just the right weather to finish putting up the Christmas lights. My fingers are sore from changing out the little burned out bulbs from the icicle lights. There must have been 50 of them burned out. If one is burned out, the string does not light. I have a bulb tester, so I can find out which are burned out. I am only buying LEDS from now on. Cheaper on the energy bill and they last alot longer.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Looking at Sek's chart its looking like the Rice project will be completing June of next year. Get those badges and if you can and if you can get 4 years worth that would be good since rumor that is going to be the next badge type.

I don't trust time machine. Its not ready for prime time yet. I clone everything. I locked myself out of all 4 hard drives in the mac pro. Nice thing about external clones is I can start right back up. The big problem was I wasn't up to date on 2 of those drives and had to get in there before I put my backups on them. Just got access today to the drives but not the folders yet. Hopefully by the end of the week. Got sloppy on my backups and stupid on making an adjustment to permissions to early in the morning to realize what I did until it was to late. Learned one heck of a lesson on this one! crying
