Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Anyone here get any of the new DDDT2 work units?
I'm getting the "no work available..." message.

Not yet. I see the results page shows nothing returned yet either.

I still have not got a single DDD2 yet. I have the box checked. It may be that the return time is less than 5 days. I travel a lot so I keep by Queue at 5 days in case somehting goes wrong with my network while I am out of town, I can still do work.

Can some tell me what the number of days to return DDDT2 is for ones they have in process?

The only way I got work units is to only check that project. On my 2.66 core 2 duo mac it is taking about 40 hours per work unit. on the slower machines it is taking 4 days. I got about 12 work units and only on has been validated so far. But right now there is no work available. The 1000 or so work units need to be examined by the scientists before that release the next bunch.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Sick of snow and the cold.

I had 19 DDDT2 work units and they are all done as of today. I have an old 2.8Ghz HT Linux box and it took 132 CPU hours to finish a work unit. shock

We have had a good amount but not overwhelming. But once it snowed , it has all stayed. We are getting a little warming each day, around 30 to 35 F(-1 to 2C). The sun is high enough to start a little melting. Might be -10F (-23.3C) tonight. Small cold front, but not long lasting. I to am ready for spring, but not too fast. With the amount of snow all over, if it melts too fast we will have bad flooding again. See what March brings.

Cheers

If you have a 5 day queue, I am sure you would not have gotten any in this first batch. There were too few of them and I am sure they were snapped up by those who had very short queues, which I would guess Brink had. . There will be more of the next run and they should be shorter work units. The third kind will be even more plentiful so I am sure you will see your share of those. Good luck.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

My queue is almost always set to 0.1 days. It's the only way you can get any beta work units and in this case, hard to get DDDT2 units. thinking

i am also getting tired of shoveling my way to fill the bird feeders. it seems as if the blowing/drifting has been worse this year.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Put the bird feeder on a pole you can tip closer toward the house.
