It is nice out. Looks like snow Monday. A few more feet would be nice. Seems we are having January weather. January will be interesting. Finally got word my ssd's finally shipped. Haven't decided if I want to crunch on them or use them as a OS only disk.

Some (2½') snow here ![]() Nice picture. Not much wind as I see the snow has piled straight up. Not that much here yet. We have about 12in.(30 cm). It is currently snowing now with about 7 to 8 inches( 18 to 20cm) expected tonight. The snow is fine and dry, with little wind blowing. 20F(-7C) now, so pretty warm. Cheers

Just finished plowing the driveway. About 5 inches. A bit soar from my disco grams today. Pretty painful. Won't go through that again. UT, nice picture. Brink, how's the cruncher coming along?

The new rig is humming right along. At gpugrid I've accumulated 191,059 points already. Easy to do when each work unit is 9,000-12,000 points each.
![]() The ssd drive is fast. I'm just astounded on how fast ubuntu boots up. Now I'm looking to put another 6 gig of ram in it. Bring it up to 12 gig. ![]() |

Looks like you have a nice ssd. Have you tried crunching cep2 on it? If so, can you check crunching time vs actual time. The cheap ssd drives I ordered don't have the sand force mechanism but hope it's faster than a regular hard drive. Probably use a an OS plus some apps but put boinc on a regular drive.

I've done CEP2, DDDT2, CCW and HCMD2. Right now my queue is full of DDDT2 W/U's. I will grab a couple CEP2 W/U's and let you know. |

Finally upgraded the slow cruncher. Those woodcrest xeons were a bit slow. Moved my e5420's to my 3rd cruncher. Put a E5472 in the second cruncher. Hopefully find another soon. If anyone knows of a good deal on a E5472 E0 stepping, please let me know. Should put me over until the sandy bridge chips been out for a little while. Looks to be good pricing on them.
