Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I've seen many of trees and limbs came down during the last two days. I'm glad we never bothered to put many potted plants out, the few we did have didn't survive.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Well, round three came early this morning. I was helping with the church dance and beer garden last night, getting home about 03:00 AM. It had just started to sprinkle at that time. When I got up at 08:30 my better half said we got over 2 inches(5cm) of rain. Had a few more more smaller branches down and the ditch has running water. Pretty soggy all around.
Stay safe
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I just got back from a friend's house where we were clearing up his driveway after a large cottonwood limb had come down in the wind. It's hot and humid here and we were only able to work for an hour and a half in heavy work clothes. The sweat kept running down my goggles and I could barely see where I was cutting. I had just left his house when another limb fell just in front of my car. I hope these storms quit soon.

Yep. Looks like Iowa got allot of rain too. Lets hope it slows down the rest of the summer. The forcast for tonight and tomorrow doesn't sound good but hopefully they get it wrong. Keep an eye in the sky folks and stay safe.

What's up on that side of planet?

Nothing new under these stars, except climate.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I finally got my pictures from my storm damage uploaded. Cleaning up the main tree took a couple of days and I knew a guy who wanted the firewood. I got very lucky that it fell away from the house and only took out the fence. It has been a while since I had to use these saws, (one 4 ft-about 1.3 meters and the other is 6ft - about 1.83meters, but I still remember how. The bow saw is 42inches - about 107 cm. A chainsaw would have been faster, but not nearly as quiet. Besides, I needed the exercise. You can see how close this came to my bird waterer.

Cheers
