Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Heard one of the Swedish ministers on the radio this morning talking about this. I do not know what can be gained by wanton destruction by idiots. The minister talked about more education and more integration of immigrants into the fabric of Sweden. I do not know the underlying causes of these riots, but burning and rioting is not helpful to solving problems.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Another Asteroids challenge is coming up. This is another opportunity for the team to get some exposure. We finished in the top 10 last time!

That is because he is on the ball.

Well I got my red potatoes and my Yukon Gold potatoes planted on Friday. I will plant the purple potatoes tomorrow, along with the pumpkins and the squash. I spent most of the last two days mowing grass and mulching the potatoes. First chance I have had to cut the grass now that it is drying out a bit. Some of that grass was a good 8 inches(20cm) high. If it stays nice we will transplant the tomatoes this week also.
My wife saw the first scarlet tanager in many years this week. She also saw an indigo bunting which she had not seen for a while either.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Swiftmallard, please remind us about the asteroids challenge again a couple days before it starts. I'll join in again.

If I do any planting any time soon, it is going to have to be rice. tongue

I will be happy to. If you wish to maximize credits for the challenge, I suggest starting as long a time as possible before the challenge begins so pendings will start to be credited while the challenge is in progress.

You could say that. Here's our current weather warning:
* Through Tuesday evening

* numerous thunderstorms late this evening and overnight into
Tuesday morning will produce 3 to 5 inches of rain where
training thunderstorms occur. Most locations will receive 1 to 2
inches of rain. This will likely develop into a major flash
flood event... possibly life threatening... especially where training
thunderstorms develop.

* Locations which have had 3 to 6 inches of rain already this past
weekend will be the most vulnerable for severe flash flooding.
Additional heavy rainfall on saturated soils would likely cause
flash flooding. People camping should use caution and avoid
camping in flood prone areas.

I am grateful that we live well up a hill.
