Re: Work Available

I had a bunch of resends on the 19th, but only a few on the 20th, and they dried up about 1200 UTC. Nothing after that except a few OPN and MCM tasks.

Re: Work Available

Thanks for noticing my new badge, Mark.

I'm getting MCM resends here and there, but running mostly idle. I still have some pending ARPs waiting for wingmen to finish though.
This brings back memories of Seti shutting down where they had to force send WUs to multiple people to defeat hoarding issues.

Re: Work Available

I've got enough ARP-resends on my main cruncher to keep my small home-office warm for another 24 hours.

It seems that on "No reply" 2 resends are sent out within a short timeframe.
Last day 18 MCM1-resends on three laptops were server aborted due to the 2nd resend returned faster or the original task returned late.

Re: Work Available

I'm down to the last five on my main cruncher and two more on an old FX6100, unless more show up. MCM and OPN1 have completely dried up, and only my Raspberry Pis are still crunching any OPN1. It's looking like they'll run out today as well. I suspect any further units, if they come, will be re-re-resends.

-twenty minutes later-

I guess they're still out there... one more ARP just came to me in a massive block of MCM work with a couple OPN1s as well.

Re: Work Available

Thanks, guys.

Only 2,604 units validated in the last 24 hours. None of them were extremes. The youngest generation was 124.

The policy with resends used to be that if a previous version was returned late, they would server abort any resends that had not reached a checkpoint. But these are different times.

All these resends show how many crunchers stored too many units.

I have stopped calculating a forecast for the end of the project - too many unknowns and too many machines have run out of work and we don't know how many will return.

I now expect it to end early next year.

Mike
