Yes René
Felipe Massa’s condition was described as ‘stable’ on Sunday morning, with Ferrari confirming that there were no complications overnight following the Brazilian’s successful surgery for a skull fracture at Budapest’s AEK Hospital. Massa sustained the fracture and concussion during his high-speed crash at the Hungaroring in Saturday’s qualifying session, in which he was struck on the head by a spring from the Brawn car of Rubens Barrichello. After surgery he was put into an induced coma, a standard procedure following such an operation, and remained under observation in intensive care overnight. "After undergoing an operation yesterday afternoon, Felipe Massa's condition remains stable and there were no further complications through the night,” said a Ferrari statement. "He will be given another CT scan today, which will provide more precise information ![]() |

The CT scan has been good. Heard a prediction, that he could take part in Valencia in three weeks. Sounds a bit too optimistic for me.

F1 to investigate Massa accident Formula 1 is to conduct an investigation into the accident in which Ferrari driver Felipe Massa suffered a fractured skull. The probe will attempt to discover the causes of the incident and whether any changes are required to improve safety. Brazilian Massa was hit on the helmet by a spring that had fallen off Rubens Barrichello's Brawn GP car during Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying. Massa underwent surgery and is under sedation following a scan on Sunday. His accident came six days after 18-year-old Henry Surtees was killed after being hit on the head by a wheel from a crashed car in a Formula Two race in England. |

Like old times with Lewis and Kimi fighting it out at the front.
It should be an interesting second half of the season. I hope Massa makes a full recovery in good time. He's one of the good guys on the grid. |

Renault will miss the next round of the championship for allowing Fernando Alonso to leave the pits with a wheel not properly secured during Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.
A mistake attaching the front-right wheel at Alonso's first stop led to it coming loose from the car once the Spaniard had returned the track. He limped back to the pits but was subsequently forced to retire due to resulting damage. Budapest stewards decided Renault had been negligent in failing to secure the wheel, in knowingly letting Alonso leave the pits with the problem, and in failing to inform their driver of the issue. Renault are to appeal the decision. Should that appeal fail it means Alonso and team mate Nelson Piquet will not participate in the European Grand Prix on August 21-23. |
