Re: Unable to upload work unit

Downgraded to 10.8.16 as suggested and 10.8.13 which was the version that I used before 10.8.22. Neither of these versions solved the problem so I have gone back to 10.6.22.

Re: Unable to upload work unit

Darn

Ok - one most thing to try.

Can you exit your BOINC client.
Open the client_state.xml file

Replace all instances of

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/wcg_cgi/file_upload_handler

with

https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/wcg_cgi/file_upload_handler

and let me know what happens.

this is a long shot.....

Re: Unable to upload work unit

Also - when you do this test, please add the logging options to your cc_config.xml flie and post the messages in the log again.

thanks

One additional question - have you been able to upload work for other projects? Is this upload problem specific to Help Conquer Cancer workunits?

I have work units failing to upload for HCC, FAAH, DDDT and HPF. I am not participating in African Climate.

For me, I've been able to upload all types of work until two days ago. This machine is only running cancer, so I don't know about other work since the problem started.

This machine was uploading cancer just fine until two days ago.

I don't have access to this machine until Monday, if I get a chance then I'll also try your suggestions.

Re: Unable to upload work unit

I uninstalled the older release of boinc, reinstalled 5.10.22, used the newer libcurl, added the debugging options, and changed the url to secure.worldcommunitygrid.org

The upload no longer stays in uploading status with the http error - although the last message in the messages tab indicates fatal upload error.

It's now listed as "ready to report" on the task tab.

Re: Unable to upload work unit

Is there a way for me to move the results from this machine to another that is able to upload?

After Monday I will be gone for week, and if this isn't fixed I'm going to start missing deadlines.

Re: Unable to upload work unit

Simply copy the whole swat of C:\Program Files\BOINC\*.* including sub directories to a jump drive. Copy it to a *Similar* machine with same OS, to the same hierarchic location and start BOINCmgr up from the explorer window. The uploading involves no crunching, so expect no trouble.

If away for a week, abort any unfinished work that has a longer shorter deadline. That way WCG can resend it immediately to other clients.

Can you define "same OS"?

Are all versions of windows the same OS?

Also, does it have to be copied to the same drive letter?

Thanks.

BTW, although I will be gine for a week, my machines will still be crunching. So I'll get an upload in and let them go.
