WCG maintains 4 'Homogeneous Redundancy' Groups of OSses. Windows of all versions minus W95 & WNT4 is one. The System Requirements page shows for each project, which Operating System Group it supports. there are 4.
----------------------------------------I've never messed with relocating it to a different drive or relative location, but suspect it will work too (maybe not Vista) as i cant find any path in the main control files. Set the Network and Operating condition in the Activity Menu to Suspend before copying. Start BOINCmgr on the new machine and look in the Message tab at the start-up piece of the log what it says about the data directory. hmmm.... the original client continuing on, means the uploadable files are still lingering on there and continuing to download work. Think you best do a project reset on there AFTER you successfully uploaded from the other machine. That will remove any chance of duplication and BOINC stopping to fetch work because it might start to think its missing deadlines. Make sure that while you carry out this operation that the source machine is not crunching, for it could communicate whilst you are carrying out your actions on the other machine. Why do i think I don't want to get involved in this unsupported activity for seeing something blowing up and you getting more unhappy

Guys,
----------------------------------------I did as instructed, moved the enitre Boinc folder to another machine - one that has been uploading fine - and it also faling the upload. One more thing to try, this machine has been running a different version of Boinc. I'm going to try to upload those results with the version of boinc this machine runs. To the others who are posting issues with uploading. Can you please install this version of BOINC (on windows) and report back with your success or failure? http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.8.16_windows_intelx86.exe This version does not solve the problem for me. I see the same problem uploading using it.

I've gone back to the 5.8.16 agent and everything works. There's something in the newer agent that has an issue with my machine or the network communication to wcg.

Sorry to ask you to try yet another version. However, BOINC has just provided a new version of the BOINC client. Can you please try using the version available here:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.10.30_windows_intelx86.exe Also - for those of you who were able to have success with the 5.8.16 client, can you please try the new 5.10.30 client?
