Ich kann nicht wirklich 'Sie' sagen. Das tun wir nicht mehr in Dänemark smile
I cannot really say German 'Sie'. We don't do that any more in Denmark.

Jeg er fra midten af Tyskland. Som barn var jeg ofte i Danmark
Ich komme aus der Mitte von Deutschland. Als Kind war ich oft in Dänemark.
I live in the center of Germany. When I was a child I visited Danmark often.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you for visiting, Base Camp, Eric_Kaiser smile
Germany was the first foreign country I visited
- apart from ferry trips to Sweden where Danes purchased above all almonds at low prices.
I like to say that I beat HSV in badminton on that first trip, which we did cool

Did your family go to the West Coast of Jutland for summer vacations?
We believe Germans - especially those living well inland - like to spend time at the sea.

biggrin applause
I'd love to play badminton during high school time. Incredible fast sport.
I've played nearly everything with a racket: tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash.

Good guess. Yes. That was back in the seventies. Looong time ago. Feeling old now, when I write this.

Well, HSV badminton wasn't HSV Fussball .... still, it sounds good tongue

Have you given up playing racket sports?

It was arranged so neatly for my right foot, so that goal was an easy one blushing
Was it interaction with Danes that taught you Danish?

This shall be no secret, Eric_Kaiser. We are always on the outlook for new Base Campers.
I think you know what the idea is since we visited your team, Andrax, not long ago.
We are fiddling with a short visit to team Kraland May 12-May 20
- just a few days ... coffee coffee
In my signature is a link that tells a long story, and also you are always welcome here. We like visitors.
Today is special. Our newest Base Camper, Fossaw, celebrates his 61st birthday today
- perhaps close to your age - and he opened the bar this morning.
I didn't hear him close it cool please help yourself biggrin

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

little_mermaid, I quit playing racket games because of my knees.

Are you still playing Badminton?

Language learning:
I'm interested in languages. Back in school I've learned English, French, Latin and Spanish.
Two years ago I've started learning Dutch, Italian, Danish and Norwegian.

What a pity sad How can you have them improved? Replacement surgery?
Are you still playing Badminton?
No. The last time I tried was some five years ago. I remebered it well and enjoyed it. In slow motion. Double. It was with an organisation called 'Senior Exercise', so we were in the same age bracket. The too old age. However, I acquired a 'golf elbow' that took me 2 months with a support bandage to get over .... they make those handgrips far too slim in my opion. What do you think?

Wow! I'm so impressed. Is this a special talent you have?
You'll know all about min of meer and ezelsbruggetje then.
What motivates you to go on board in all these languages?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Yardarm! Yes! That’s the word, Fossaw.
I never understood that word, and now it’s so obvious. You did what we do in Denmark ad infinitum:
Combine words into long, long, long ones.
Ha! And when you do it, I cannot see it … English words tend to be to the short side and rarely a compound.
Good Morning Base Campers!
Minnesota trek
yodap@BC still lingers – but it cannot hurt.
Kraland II
It seems as if things shape up for a trek to Kraland. It would be well deserved.
Urden is a Base Camper – he missed the Minnesota trek, though –
stefada is a frequent and welcome poster in our team thread, and
Saphir12 is my patient helping hand whenever I run into various problems.
Just in case: I made a badge in a hurry.
The review committee may not like it … I’m waiting for the verdict. Nervously.
Possible new Base Camper
We had a visit from Eric_Kaiser.
Dare I hope he would go with us on a trek at least on a trial basis? whistling
I’m afraid I guessed him a bit older than he really is,
and that could be where the decision tips the wrong way …
He seems to be a little sensitive about his age worried and I may have offended him .... d oh

Hey, young man! What should I say? laughing devilish
And we need all the Base Campers we can get shhh we have work to do
- we have a Grand Galls SNURK trek coming up in September.
Selfcentered chit-chat
Weather: Meteorlogically this spring has already bested last year’s summer already
– and it’s such a delight to walk my favorite trails.
It will be a forest trail today – these are dry now and mud is in the horizon,
because today they forecast thunder and heavy rain showers, so I better do it now!
In Denmark ’heavy rainshowers’ amount to some 25 mm/1 inch blushing
The problem is that it comes down so fast that many basements will be flooded.
Backup of phone: Sometimes problems are solved - or at least have an explanation.
I kept reading the Sony Forum item about backup. In Hungarian.
It turns out that the phone system software creates a file to be stored in the internal memory
before it’s transferred to the SD-card. And with a skinny internal memory …
Well, it’s just stuck af 50% waiting for storage that’s never going to arrive.
Was that the best possible way to design that?
Deselect apps, and it works. If s**t happens, you just download those again.
Forum signature: I had an e-mail from the Management, the Web Department.
They told me my hearts weigh three characters each.
What a relief to know that biggrin
Could I have an extra ration of characters, please?
Badge Review Committee: Oh, and I had very swift and positive news from the Chairman.
"Very nice badge" mmmm .....
So, Base Campers: This is what you’ll earn if you join
Team Kraland
during the Kraland IX Challenge running from May 12 to May 20
- it is set up to deal with points

BladeD, you cannot pass on that one, can you?
Doneske, when are you done with your business in foreign territory?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Currently, right in the middle of the Pentathlon. Moving to the Sprint on Rosetta@Home tonight then to the City Run on Asteroids@Home this weekend. Maybe able to return toward the end of the Kraland Trek depending on how fast I get my machines to drain down and load back up with WCG. Pentathlon ends 0000 UTC on the 19th
