Development of BOINC started in February 2002, and released in April that year. The first project, Predictor, started in June 2004.

I knew where to look for them... With my brain being the way it is now, I can never be sure I know anything.

---------- I have not done any programming for a long time, but C / C++ is really languages to get lost, even if it's the most used. Given what you have entrusted to us, I invite you to learn about the language Ada. It is implacable logic! This is used for rockets and nuclear power plants. (I no longer have the source in mind, but the language was created at the request of NASA, a probe was lost). The Java language is also much more understandable, if you have notions of OOP ... ![]() |

I go with C++ because I have a lot of resources in the house here. I certainly was into OOP. I have worked in embedded systems for a long time, often the options are limited, okay, right now, I'm trying to get going again on a desktop, but I am trying to keep to my arena. I doubt I will ever be able to get back to where I was, but it doesn't hurt to try.

I doubt I will ever be able to get back to where I was, but it doesn't hurt to try. That's the spirit, Fossaw. Determination, and realism, but hope, dreams as well. The facts can be so hard to accept. After a blood clot in heart in January I found I could no longer walk without loosing my breath, and my world spun out of control .... since an adjustment of medicine has improved on that This is peanuts compared to what you have had - and still have - to deal with. I wish I could do something - if: Don't hesitate to say so. Have a look at the road leading to Gavnø Castle just a hop, a skip, and a jump from me as it looked Sunday ![]() It is Takaki from Hiroshima who has donated it. He's a large scale baker infatuated with 'Danish culture and lifestyle' it says on a memorial. I'm fascinated by this. In fact there are a couple of his bakeries in Copenhagen, and I have a note to some day go and taste Takaki's variety of wienerbrød - Vienna bread - the Danish variety of Danish ![]() |

The flowers on the trees and the new light green leaves starting to appear certainly raises the feeling whilst out and about. I'm off out and about now, we need a new roll of Aluminium foil, it is not a great quest, but it gives me something to do.

Enjoy the spectacle, Fossaw
Never before has the green been so green, and you know 'Green is good for the eyes', the mama duck said to her ugly duckling Hans Christian Andersen said in 'The Ugly Duckling' This was the basis for my avatar in when I was 'ugly duckling' in my first inning - such a good poster ![]() |

----------- It was just a suggestion that I found C ++ difficult to read at the time. While when we code in Ada, I think it's clean and easy to read, but it's subjective. And as you pointed out, we must also see the resources at our disposal. Then, how easy it is to reason when one is in good health. To encourage you and Little Mermaid, just two quotes I love: Napoleon: "The only battle lost in advance, is the one we do not lead." Mark Twain: "They did not know it was impossible, so they did it!" Whenever I doubt, I try to have these two sentences in mind. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 8, 2018 12:48:16 PM] |
