Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

So you are sort of a third generation Luxemburger? WoW!
I have never been there. My mother's older sisters were born in Luxembourg before WWII. The family was in the USA and headed back home when the Nazis overran Luxembourg. My mother was born in the USA. They did not return to Luxembourg until after the war. By then they had established a home here and only went back to visit relatives.

As for his 2 aero-planes: I was told his friends destroyed them out of fear of the Nazis. Someday I will visit a museum that houses one of these Mignet-designed aircraft. Then I can see for real what I have only seen in old family photos. I sure I will be brought to tears as I was when I visited the Smithsonian and stood at arms length next to the Wright Flyer.

It is now less than 24 hours until the landing of the Eagle.

Cheers coffee

It sure is, NixChix.
After your space walk
the moment of truth is nearing fast now. I hope you are paying good attention, 'cause it looks like the LM (Landing Module, not Little Mermaid) needs a somewhat different landing target. If you look outside, you'll see that the computer's landing target is in a boulder-strewn area just north and east of a 300-meter (980 ft) diameter crater. The landing at the moon's surface is planned at 20:17 UTC today
at the Sea of Tranquility.

Because of this, you need to take semi-automatic control and watch your fuel level! Please!

Anything to please you, acpartsman hugs

Precisely. biggrin
Back in the early '90s when the Soviet Union was falling apart I read in a Soviet/American news paper where a businessman from Canada bought a MIG for less than the price of a new luxury car today and used it to fly to Texas 3 times a week. Now that's cool. cool

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Where do they have Mignet-designed aircraft in the USA, NixChix, because I’m sure they have.
I have been to numerous Air Museums there – mainly to satisfy ex’s appetite, but often enough
I was fascinated by those beauties and beasts on display, so well kept and spit polished by mainly volunteers.
The last one I went to was in Minot, North Dakota, where they had that mail aircraft with ’Ushuaia’ painted on it
– which reminds me that I miss Fossaw …
sad
Glad you liked it, acpartsman, I’ll see if I can get you a MIG as well – for Sunday trips biggrin
Good Morning Base Campers!
Captain adriverhoef, I think we’re missing our pilot sad
Have you seen stefada? worried
Didn’t he return from the space walk? crying
Never mind – we have so many flight, space and Moon knowledgeable people on this crew
that we will safely land on the coast of the Sea of Tranquility
– what a poetic name. I look forward to making waves there.

The same faithful crew is fueling this trek, and we have even expanded our lead over team Andrax in the Small Team Race cool

Captain adriverhoef, I think we’re missing our pilot sad

Well, at first Base Camp here on Earth was informed that the asteroid Adonis had a new satellite when we heard yelling "Stop!"

When we rewound the video recording we saw your young astronaut with a rope in his hand rescuing your captain during the space walk:

We've seen the photo of your captain's rescue in this message that came from your space rocket and wondered what was going on, so now the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
We were able to reconstruct the situation by drawing a picture in black and white:

I can understand that he had enough of it afterwards for a little while and wanted to take off his space shoes in a hurry:

But what was worse, after that, I couldn't believe my eyes:

He should stop drinking and pay all the attention you need to land the LM!
Listen to what's he saying there:
"W-h-whisky, stop f-f-fooling about! Get b-b-back in my glass this m-m-minute!"
This is horrible!
I can see before my eyes what will happen next when he drinks too much:

And the language, the language that he uses when drinking crying :

So, where is he now? One of the cameras on board is showing him frolicking with the housepet:

Luckily you were able to put back his helmet on:

So everything is in order now, I understand, and your dedicated crew is ready to land on the moon in a few hours, according to schedule planned at 20:17 UTC today.

Join the top40.nl 2.0 trek now! top40.nl

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you very much Captain adriverhoef for stepping up to the Moon - wonderful job love struck
Gott sei Dank, Captain adriverhoef. You did everything.
It must have been scary when stefada started talking Hungarian and Farsi
not to mention his fit over his balled up whisky.
Wonderful illustrations.
They resemble stefada perfectly when I think of the photo of him as a Breton Viking.
Yes, we shall all be ready at 20:17 UTC – that is 22:17 your time and mine, Captain adriverhoef
and 04:17 pm for our American crew members, right?
So in less than four hours the red lamp will signal FASTEN SEAT BELT
shortly after you’ll feel a slight bump
we’ll open the hatch, put out our step ladder, and go hopping and dusting
over to the place where we’ll plant the Base Camp flag

say: "One Giant Step for Mankind - peanuts for Base Camp cool "
sing our national hymn
enjoy our fiesta wrapped Moon Meals

with a sip of tequila (left over from our Cahuamos trek) from silver drinking straws
visit the public toilets
- make sure you have your MooncoinguildersbitballEURObytesdollars ready in a pocket you can access devilish
and go back home biggrin
We have another nine days to go with this excellent captain
- no more moon landings, sorry
- or have you planned a rerun, Captain adriverhoef?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

NixChix,

Tu me fais rêver ...
----------
If I had the opportunity to fly a plane like that, you would not have time to realize, that I would already be talking with the mechanic to make the checklist. A single-engine with what is called a 'parasol wing' is the easiest thing to fly.

You make me dream ...

love struck

little mermaid,

---------
Do not worry. The blue and white plane is to remind me of my flying lessons. It's about the same thing I learned, except that it was on the version 30 years before. And you learn a bit about being in flight, it's still something special, and you do not go from the 'cows floor' to the moon like that.

wink

acpartsman,

----------
We have an imaginary challenge? You find us an F-16 Falcon, while I'm looking for a Rafale. Version B both, whether it's two-seater, and we're dreaming? (There is more chance that I know how to drive them, than to climb in it, to say if one is not there!)

good luck

adriverhoef,

----------
Already up there? Nan because I was tinking on the flight plans, and the weather is not very good ...
In truth, you responded very well to this simulation! Now I'm sure, if I have a problem, someone else will be there.

smile

---------
We have one more training for tomorrow, to practice zero gravity training. I have to see with my friend Buck Danny, to lend us a Hercules C-130 scheduled for. Then we should be ready for the 26th ...

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Just as a reminder:
The schedule for the mission calls for the astronauts to follow the landing with a five-hour sleep period as you have been awake since early morning. So that means you'll be walking the moon tomorrow (July 21)!

You're landing now …
Wishing you the most of luck …
Just a few seconds …

Touchdown!
At 20:17:40 UTC on July 20 with about 25 seconds of fuel left. Good job, team! rose good luck dancing
