I just landed Escher-1 at L'Alliance Francophone HQ. Thanks to whomever switched on the airfield lights. They come on automatically when they hear the buzz of an Escher-1, NixChix.Welcome to Francophonia - it feels good to have company  I have to hit the books for some heavy studying right now, so no more posts tonight. Please let us know what you study so hard when you have the time.And how is your son's healing coming along? My son is getting better each day (thank you for asking), but still cannot be on his feet for more than a few hours. He is so bored. He started making herringbone patterned cutting-boards for his siblings in our workshop as Christmas gifts. That is a lot of cuts to cut the beautiful woods he bought into lots of little strips that he is ready to glue back into a plank, that he will again cut into little bits, glue, cut glue. Much of that wood is being turned into sawdust in the process. That is a good campfire song. I am used to "Row, row, row your boat...", and others. Would Eddie's song be good for a campfire? I noticed that quite a few folks here all have [AF>France] in their usernames. What is that all about. Did the Borg Collective strike here? They may have had a certain esprit de corps when the team was founded that made the [AF>France]/[AF>Belgique] etc. mandatory, NixChix. In most cases their names include where they are from in France, Canada, Switzerland and so on ... Do I like that! A boon for a geography buff .... Perhaps our hosts will tell us. I'm happy that your son is improving, and forced immobility of any degree is frustrating. I would like to see pictures of his woodwork. We shall enjoy his better-than-Eric-Clapton covers, and make him sing like Sade as well  I intend to issue a WCG-wide invitation to our L'Alliance Francophone trek in a couple of days. EDIT: Just checked the Base Camp participation. Just the two of us, NixChix - and probably an OldChap propelling in the mermaid back office - because I cannot swim that fast on my own  Chit-chat I began dieting. The six kilos (some 13 lbs) I gained while taking HRT pills prevent me from squeezing into my ski pants in less than 20 minutes. And when I'm there, I can hardly breathe  Heard the 5:2 method - 5 days normal food intake; 2 days effectively starving should be efficient. These are mini-teams tags. They are not mandatory but many of us have it. Here are some examples: [AF>Quebec] (people who are attached to this region), [AF>HFR] (Hardware.fr) or [AF>EDLS] (Equipe de la Science). Like this we can have some internal contests and motivate ourselfs |
