Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Should be drinking beer with a Sausage, or is that a German thing.

Looks like a hotdog minus a bunch of stuff.

Can't stand those bottled chocolate drinks either.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

@ TLD - beer would be a far better choice - not least tastewise as I see it sick
However, the street stands don't sell it, and it's conventional wisdom that we like Cocio with Røde pølser ...
@ Ghost Plane - we make the best hot dogs in the entire world
- them American ones crying
- ate but one - a major disappointment
See, this is a hot dog:

- in Politically Incorrect street Danish:
- a dead Indian with a blanket and the entire war paint.
The one you think looks like "a hotdog minus a bunch of stuff" (good way to say it) has many names
- an Indian with rucksack
- a finger with cake
- a snake with dough
- a Russian with side cart ....

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

10_13 thank you for knocking on Base Camp's door.

The gate shall fly wide open as soon as the blood hounds
have barked the all clear
- nothing personal
- just a side effect of an earlier traumatic episode
- hope you'll understand
- the bandits tend to win, unfortunately.

Good Afternoon Base Campers
New Base Camper
10_13 was waiting outside Base Camp's door.
It turns out cswchan knows him/her from Team Ninja. That does it. Please come in!
We have made a welcome thread for you in Base Camp's Check In.
We look forward to hearing a little about you.
Trek #30 Report
The staple 10 crew are crunching away in the heat of Idaho of beautiful Idaho.
Wonder what happened to rwillis?
Food
Our Swedish cook decided to treat us to the Danish national dish in all its simplicity:
Frikadeller (kind of fried meat balls) with plain boiled potatoes and brown gravy. We are modest people.
In winter we add some red cabbage.
In summer we may have marinated (vinegar/sugar marinade) sliced cucumber.
Health conscious people have developed a taste for mixed salad to go with it.

For dessert classic, uncomplicated Rainbow ice cream.
Norway
As a side effect of taking part in events dealing with the killings in Norway,
I came across an Egyptian who invited people to participate in a show of support in front of the Norwegian Embassy in Cairo.
I said I would be there in spirit, and now we are Facebook friends. He is an MBA working for the GPS company Garmin in Cairo.
When I was there 2½ years ago there were no maps; they were banned until last year.
They are not up to snuff, but improving, he says.
I use my Garmin for geocaching - it's a small and wonderful world after all.
Culture
Music

We go through tons of music. Another horrendous playlist is ready for collectors
and one more is being readied; hope to have it for you tomorrow:

Trek #30 Report
The 10 of us crunching in Idaho have been joined by Sport who's well enough to pitch in a little.
Great to see you, Sport. Welcome to Idaho!
NAP2614 thinks he's on the mend. Has been able to work a bit today and some more a few days ago.
Wishing your progress will continue!
Wonder what happened to rwillis?
Food
Our Swedish cook has the day off, so I suggest we just eat GTCola2010's birthday cake so it doesn't spoil.
Norway
There is a lot of activity on Facebook showing support for little brother Norway from Finland, Sweden, France and Washington State.
In Denmark we had an official day of mourning with flags flying half mast on official buildings and ships.
A memorial service attended by the Royal Family was held in Copenhagen. One Danish girl is among the murdered.
Culture
Music

I did not get our Base Camp 11 playlist done, but it doesn't run anywhere.
Lest you forget The Biggest Little State in the Union:
Rhode Island Is Famous for You
This piece of music is almost wed to the Robert Redford and Paul Newman movie "The Sting"
The Entertainer
And romance? YouTube is without limits
