There are already plenty of "dead" teams just as WCG has plenty of members that aren't active and haven't been for a long time. I agree, the UD hit will be rather noticable across WCG. That is just something everyone will have to deal with.

Congrats to Dataman and Blizzie on their milestones today! We lost newtod from our active ranks today. kingpomba's retirement is probably one of the better cases of someone with UD being aware of its end and "cleaning up". Ideally yes, we want them to switch to BOINC but I think most will just "fade into the sunset", neither active nor retired. However, looking at the positives, we have a lot going for us. We have an active core here in the team thread and a good number of regularly active crunchers on BOINC who can put up very good points! That is certainly a good foundation to build on!

Ahhhh ... the new machine is on the UPS truck for delivery. I love their idea of 2-day shipping. Shipped on the 24th ... delivered on the 28th. I guess they get to pick which 2 days. It will give me something to do today as it is trying to snow. Am getting about a dozen flakes then it returns to a shower. Nothing will come of it as the temp is constant at 32.5F. When the sun comes up, it will just be rain.

If you're going to get it done in 2007, you better get started!
