Hi little mermaid and all.
I've been crunching WCG for just over 7 years, now, and had never joined a team. I figured I had "practiced" long enough and decided to join a team. The first search I did was USMC, which brought me here. Why search for USMC? I was active duty 1978-1982. I have been married for 22 years, and have 2 boys aged 20 and 22. We all reside in Madison WI. Our oldest son just happens to be active Marine Corps Reserve. Thanks for the welcome ![]() Wayne |

Thank you, wostertag, for being attentive and replying.
----------------------------------------Wisconsin is a place where quite a few Danes settled. Danes were/are dairy people - both milking cows and processing of milk, butter and cheese. The Wisconsin scenery looks for a big part like Denmark, and you have a famous Danish bakery in Racine, tho it was a bit disappointing when I shopped there decades ago. It must be a pleasant place to live and raise a family. I'm glad USMC was the team that first popped up in your search, because it seems to be where you belong. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 23, 2011 7:54:05 PM] |

![]() Now you've done it, Little Mermaid! Look at all those cheeses! The man who taught me to ski jump when I was a child was a Dane from New Denmark, New Brunswick, Canada. ![]() |

Are you a cheese lover, Comrade Terry?
Akvavit is the perfect companion for most cheeses - one of the exceptions being English Stilton, which I suppose calls for port wine ![]() As we grow older, Memory Lane seems to grow longer - it's quite a nostalgic sign - New Denmark - they loved their old country, but for many reasons they left - primarily, I think, to make a better life for themselves and especially for their children. New Denmark - and it could easily be a photo taken in Denmark - our byways can be in a somewhat sorry state also, and we grow a lot of spruce for construction timber, but also little ones for Chrismas trees - an important export to many countries, actually we strangely were the biggest exporter in Europe in 2003, I couldn't find more recent figures, but I suppose it hasn't changed a lot. ![]() - on the other hand we were the biggest importer of turkeys ![]() A Dane and ski jump sounds like the Jamaican bob sledge team ![]() - we are so flat! The highest point in all of Denmark is just 170.86 m = 560.56 feet Would there be mountains in New Brunswick for him to train his skill? I hope he was good to you ![]() |
