Oh dear! I'm down a dual core and is hitting the pits. ![]() ![]() (blew a power supply, should be back up monday) Hmmm, bad power supply or bad line condition? I have found that using a line conditioner or UPS seems to make less of those go POOF. I used to lose a couple a year, with the line conditioners, I haven't lost one in a while...<knocks on wood> ![]() ![]() ![]() |

oh I got a cheap case with a cheap power supply. it always ran hot. It is on a ups, but it is more a matter of getting what you pay for. Yup, I found a place that sells 450-550W PS for $20; but they last 4-6 months...even in the P3 that came new with a 225W PS, the new cheapo 450W died after 8 months. I know it wasn't under any stress...it didn't use anywhere near the rated capacity. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I know it wasn't under any stress...it didn't use anywhere near the rated capacity. The replacement is coming today. I kicked in the extra 10usd for a better efficiency supply. Since it runs nonstop, the power savings should pay for the new supply in a year. I have 2 more machines coming, but they both lack supplies. If I run a test or 2, I can verify this before replacing the burnt supplies. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hallo, Courine!
----------------------------------------Just visited our team's homepage. What is that Taarna test video about? I believe it's from old "Heavy Metal" animated movie (I interested about this theme after playing "Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2"). Are we avenging someone? Local joke:"You go first, don't worry, we will avenge you." ![]() |

Hallo, Courine! Just visited our team's homepage. What is that Taarna test video about? I believe it's from old "Heavy Metal" animated movie (I interested about this theme after playing "Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2"). Are we avenging someone? Local joke:"You go first, don't worry, we will avenge you." “To defend, this is the pact. But when life looses its value and is taken for not, the pact is to avenge!” I’m here to not only avenge my father’s death due to cancer, I fight for all the children that will ever have to say goodbye to a loved one because of it. The fact that I am crunching for cancer cures is only half the battle. The other half is knowing that every day we get closer to ending something that causes unimaginable suffering, no matter if you die from it or not. So in the end, this is therapeutic. As in reality I’m crunching work units, but in my mind I am avenging all that have ever fallen to cancer. Thus proving to myself and to others, that I will not be victimized, as I am clearly fighting back. The “Taarna Video” is a test to see if anyone notices it. It also tests that it can be easily played. And if they do get that far, would it seem to “edgey”. Some nudity can be seen as offensive by some, while enjoyed by others as art. The end product of the clip though, is to add a storyline that is much of how I came to know distributed computing and my personal fight. Then to describe the creation of my q6600 machine, symbolized by the shedding of her past and the dawning of her battle gear. The end symbolizes the commissioning here at WCG. I need time to clear a space in my life to do the narration and the video overlays for the needed text, but it isn’t much considering the value of the end work. "Taarna: Courine's new ride". ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by courine at Oct 16, 2008 9:25:22 AM] |
