Yep -- kicked in big time!

More cores more work ... great job Dave. cool

Thanks, DM. Surprised I didn't waste too much time in PV Jail. Luck of the draw, I guess. I noticed that I do have one that has been crunching for over 20 hours now with another 13 to go -- Human Proteome Folding. Bet that spends time in PV Jail.

By the way, thanks for posting the info on this system -- would not be running it if you hadn't!

Yeah Dave. Hope that Ibuypower works well for you. They might have terrible customer service, but at least they build good machines. That said, the aircraft landing light on the front is annoying.

I suppose you guys are running XP or Vista. I am not sure which version of those support Remote Desktop Connect but I know that XP Pro (both 32 and 64 bit) and Vista Ultimate (both 32 and 64) support it and it works really well. It keeps you from having to deal with KVM switches and you can use it on any number of computers as long as they are on the same LAN.

Regards

Hey RT -- good to hear from you! I used to use Remote Desktop Connect, but tried to set it up a while back between my Vista desktop and XP laptop without success, so I kind of dropped it. The only problem I have had with my new KVM is that it supports USB keyboard/mouse and is USB powered since that is available. I had one instance in which it appeared that the USB hub software in it was hosed and I had to disconnect the system through which it was drawing power to reset it (there is no reset switch on it). I may play around with Remote desktop again, though, just to see if I can now at least get it working between the two Vista systems.

What are you running these days? You have been posting some pretty good numbers.

Yeah, I'm at 100% PS3 and QMC. No more WCG until Dataman tells me its fixed.

Yeah Jonathan, QMC, POEM, Milkyway & Rosetta are all single quorum projects. You get it, you run it, you return it and you get immediate credit for it. Except for POEM, I have never received a bad wu from them. I left 3 cores here so I can see what's going on.

BTW: My new 9800GTX arrived today but the new PC will not be shipped for at least a week. sad Patience is not my best quality. laughing biggrin laughing

Hi Dave

Interesting about your Remote Desktop, I have never had a problem running it other than telling it correct computer name or IP number. The firewalls seem to be compliant (which can be a problem).

I had it running the following ways:
XPPro32 to XPPro32
VistaUltimate32 to XPPro32
and now VistaUltimate64 to VistaUltimate32.
This last combination works really well.

I have two Dual Core Machines at about 3Ghz each core and one Quad (Intel Core 2 quad (Q9550)). Am about to move an old AMD from another account to RT. I took off for a week and had everything shut down so there was a big dip in numbers. We are back now and cranking some out.

Take Care

Well, probably over complicating it, but not getting it to work. Figured you had about what I am now crunching. Just moved up from 2 Core 2 Duals to add a Quad here. Amazing how much the quads put out!

Tonight, I am enjoying my very own Oktoberfest, even if it is with India Pale Ale (what can I say, I'm a hop head). Actually am drinking my current favorite, Dogfish Head IPA 60. Was watching the Hoffbrauhaus tent in Munich, but it has shut down for the night. No worry, I will make up for it biggrin

Good to see you posting in the FAAH thread on this. Looks like they have it fixed. Still, it's a bummer having the 14 errors to begin with. Inconclusives are like a special case of the PV jail.
