Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 29 smilesmile

Afternoon everyone...

I haven't posted in a bit, but i'm still crunching. cool I'm hoping to get a new machine in the near future, to add to my current desktop. The laptop I have doesn't seem to be working correctly. Figures...

I'm also HOPING to hear from the program in Virginia about a fellowship/job this coming week. Also, next weekend i'll be in Vancouver, B.C. for a conference. I'm spending big bucks to go; it's for information and personal networking experience (that's technical talk for kissing ***). I'll be with the biggest names in Child Abuse Medicine on the Planet. One day I hope to be one of them. wink

Hope everyone is doing well.

Dr. Mike biggrin

P.S. Some great crunching numbers lately!

Hi Dr. Mike! I hope you can find a bit of time while you are in Cancouver to visit the gynecologist; actually, he is a retired gynecologist who has become an international multiple kite flying champion. Ray Bethell flys kites at Vanier Park in Vancouver and is the subject of a couple very good videos on YouTube. One is an award winning documentary entitled "Good Stuff" which was produced by a student at Vancouver Film School. The other is just a beautiful film of his kites set to the Flower Song from the Opera Lakme by Leo Delibe. Lakme. Both videos are worth watching fully from start to end. I would love to go to Vancouver to see him flying kites (note that he travels extensively, so he might not be in town when you are there, but if you could catch him, I think it would be memorable).

Dr. Mike -- Several projects (about 8, if I counted correctly) are presently under consideration by the World Community Grid project team. Although I am not at liberty to talk in any detail about them, they run the gamut from Cancer through Muscular Dystrophy and Clean Energy. All are under consideration and no schedule for including them in the mix has been posted.

As far as new paper goes, that is usually up to how well Keith holds up to Dataman's nudges -- lol. Keith likes to try to hit it at the beginning of the month.

Hi Dr Mike. Good luck with the job. You will like Vancover as it is a beautiful city. I hope you have some time to do some sightseeing.

Nah Dave ... new paper once a month is sufficient. We just talk too much . biggrin

Funny Dave, I'd done some snooping in Harvard's Clean Energy project back pages a while back and found a slight reference to WCG. They have been trying to get it off the ground for over a year now. It would be a great project here. Some new blood would be nice.

It did get up to 94F today ... Helloooooo Fall? Where are you hiding?

How about PS3grid for Clean Energy? If Stanford gets the high performance system, Harvard has to one up them.

ROFL! The Divinity School is one of the least influential schools at Harvard. Hence some of our computers are P4s! Think the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences has old pcs? No.

It is hiding up near the Canadian Border in northern Minnesota. I have it on good authority it will soon be showing in a theater near me soon.

Cheers

If you would not mind ... a favor. I assume you have access to Harvard's intranet. Poke around on this link here There's no useful information from that link but when I went in through Harvard's main page, I got to some other sparce info on the project. You might have more "juice" through the internal intranet. If you don't mind.

good luck
