Same here. Yesterday I had a couple of HFCC WUs with status "Inconclusive" and no points granted. Those WUs where resent to another user. Today I see that both of them are "Valid" with granted points.

I have 18 inconclusives over the past few days on 4 machines here.
----------------------------------------Now I know any machine can toss an error but four separate machines that usually have no errors makes me wonder if there's a issue with the WU themselves. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/7385/inconclusive1.jpg http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/2696/inconclusive2.jpg http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9759/inconclusive3.jpg ![]() |

Student Movieman,
----------------------------------------Please take your copybook (the paper one) and write 100 times (by hand): Inconclusive are not errors. .Inconclusive are not errors. ..Inconclusive are not errors. ...Inconclusive are not errors. ....Inconclusive are not errors.... Cheers. Jean. ![]() PS: Next time it will be 100 times: Inconclusive are not errors. I only have to wait for their validation. Edit: PS #2: My mother was a teacher... long ago... ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by JmBoullier at Apr 23, 2009 3:15:43 AM] |

I'm sure I read that it was proposed to MM to switch his power to 220volts, 50 hertz (may have been in the lurk zone) ;>)

That the WU came to no usefull conclusion. I stand corrected and excuse me while I look for some chalk and a chalkboard.. ![]() ![]() |

I'm not used to seeing these and took the word "Inconclusive" literally. That the WU came to no usefull conclusion. I stand corrected and excuse me while I look for some chalk and a chalkboard.. ![]() It's OK, boy! ![]() Jokes aside, beside projects in no-redundancy mode where it is just a periodical check that your devices are still OK (see Sekerob's post in another thread today) when there is an Inconclusive for the other projects it is not the WUs which did not come to a conclusion, it is the validator which does not know which one to prefer, so it asks for an additional one to decide. In this case, if you usually have no errors the probability is high that it is your WU which will be preferred and stamped as Valid. Cheers. Jean. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by JmBoullier at Apr 23, 2009 8:58:50 AM] |

On another forum Movieman OWNS the book and writes other people up in it, even posts image when he threatens (have you ever thought about adding a quill pen to that image?) ... guess that's the difference between the forums eh? :ROFLMAO: </ot> |

There are a couple of things that can trigger this:
1) You return a result that is found to be invalid. As a result your computer's measurement of reliability will drop below the level required to go solo until it has returned enough results raise the level of reliability high enough to go solo again. Note: an invalid beta or cep1 workunit would be able to cause this. 2) You hit a new set of 'benchmarks'. These are used to help check for errors as well as norming points. If new benchmarks have been added, then the first users to get those will go to inconclusive first until someone else can verify the benchmark result. |

Now this makes sense on my gainestown machine as I'd just changed cpu's and was running at a different speed.. OT but that machine is running in the top 10 daily program wide and doing close to 50,000PPD at 2930mhz. Still working on how to get more out of it. If we can get the PLL controller to work with SetFSB that will add a few hundred MHz to the machine. From there it may involve a hard wire mod or two to bring more voltage to the memory and cpu's. The goal is 4000mhz on 8 cores and 16 threads. Now excuse me, back to the chalkboard, still writing.....
![]() --- I also currently a lot of WU inconclusive. The phenomenon is recent. I have accumulated more than a year of calculations on this project without any concern, and since few days it went on inconclusive inconclusive. ![]() This should be a concern at WU as I am far from the only question. ![]() The main finding is that or not, it advances research. That is the most important. ![]() |
