Because of the extra batch of DDDT-1 of last weekend I filled most of my buffers with DDDT, so I got some delay for IADS, but I'm getting close to Ruby and still try to get Emerald. Sapphire is far out of range for me. In about 4 days all cache for DDDT-1 will be finished and then running full speed IADS again, I hope ![]() I did similar but anything more than Ruby on IADS is out for me, I should make that within a few days of crunching all my DDDT WUs. ![]() ![]() |

I'm estimating that I will still need to crunch/cache an additional 150 WU's to hit Emerald. I have the rest cached or crunching right now. A few of my borgs are also not reliable, so can't rely on their caches to actually benefit me.

![]() Well, that's Ruby for me & that's as far as I can take it in the time remaining. Good luck to all those still trying to reach a badge. Hopefully this will be the last of the projects ending anytime soon (at least according to the charts it should be). Having several months/years available rather than weeks should make Emerald/Sapphire much more attainable for the remaining projects ![]() ![]() |

Just canceled all wu's from all boxes, which I can reach from here. Totto, I was canceling a bunch of WUs that I didn't want to start (trying to get to a year on CEP, but didn't make it), so I want to ask you how to cancel a set of WUs other than one at a time. Is that the only way, or did I not see something? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 18, 2009 4:04:59 AM] |

Is that the only way, or did I not see something? Well, if you're going to abort all tasks in a BOINC-project, the fastest is a detach & re-attach, but this is only an option if you haven't started filling-up with work for a new sub-project already. Also, depending on BOINC-Manager-version, atleast with v6.6.xx and later you can select multiple tasks at once, and example abort them. But, you'll still need to answer "yes" for each individual abortion afterwards, so with lots of abortions it will take some time... 3rd. party-managers like BoincView and others should AFAIK also support multi-abortion, in case you're using any of these. Of course, you can also be lazy, and instead of aborting the work just pause all the unstarted tasks, and let WCG handle the abortion for you. But, just remember, if you've got any paused tasks, client won't ask for any work from this project. So, only a good option if already cached some other work, and it's only a day or something until the deadline. Suspending a just-downloaded 10-day-cache is not a good idea, for one you're very quickly run-out of work in project, for another you'll delay re-issue until the deadline, and if it's a quorum-project some users can also become disgruntled waiting on their credit. Anyway, back to the topic of this thread, got a Ruby with the last stats-update, so just aborted all outstanding work (had already stopped work-request some days ago so wasn't many). I won't run any more WCG before middle of October at the earliest, so I won't get the very difficult-to-reach bronze in HCMD2 before in a month, due to all the sub-projects ending... ![]() ![]() "I make so many mistakes. Well....I was going to say I was annoyed, but that's far too strong a word, how bout mildly irked (ok a slight twinge). I will never again abort any work units (I know it was my choice to do so) because you'll never know if they might start releasing more later to be scooped up in the badge hunt. I can't even guestimate off the top of my head yet how many I'll have done for the Flu but really roughly 450? So I'll keep crunching till they pry my water cooled fingers off the last work unit, in case they release more.
----------------------------------------So new math estimates just over 400 days, So at least I'll be GREEN thanks to the new ![]() (long over my 'twinge', even before I could finish the math, glad to see we are finishing tasks and getting somewhere with the science GOOD LUCK all you scientists!) ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jack007 at Sep 18, 2009 4:35:47 PM] |

and now... Gold !!
