rewood1000,
----------------------------------------Firstly, welcome to the forum, and secondly, welcome to an "end game", triple time... As to your predicament on what to crunch and when so as to try and guarantee your three Emerald badges, it really depends as to how much time/effort you're willing to put into it. As HFCC & HCMD2 have such varied lengths of WU's, these are the tricky ones to predict (it's been quite some time since I last crunched HCC, but if I remember correctly, they did have a pretty standard length). So, by taking your last bunch of HCC WU's, it should be fairly easy to predict as to how many more you need - so, go grab them ASAP (especially considering, according to SekeRobs' dashboard, that project seems to be the nearest to the end), After which, you'll only really need to concentrate on the other two projects. Here, again, by investing a little time, you should be able to work out as to how much you've got in PV and thus, as to what else you need. Whether you decide to work on one, then the other (whilst keeping an eye on the third), that's your decision. One advantage with HFCC, is that it's a Zero Redundancy project (i.e. there's no wingmen to worry about - and thus, no PV to calculate). Always keep in mind though, that, where possible, the WCG techs will give a "30 day warning" of the ending of a project. Of course, this is only a prediction, but at least it's something to go on. Finally, good luck in achieving your goal. Edit: Just to confirm, a WCG year is 365 days exactly - there's no "leap year" to worry about here... ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Jan 9, 2012 4:31:09 PM] |

@CJSL
CMD2_ 2298-2IO5_ B.clustersOccur-2V7O_ A.clustersOccur_ 2_ 0-- I agree, it was received during the time I expected, thanks.It doesn't look like a repair job. I received it 1/8/12 17:03:21. Now nearly 24 hours of just children or grandchildren batches. |

Rewood1000... Welcome ! Another tool to use when calculating "time left" in a project is the dashboard that Sekerob keeps updated. Remember, all of this is just a best-can-do guesstamation.

I am at 198 days on HCMD and 233 on HCC. Also 98 on HFCC. Having just joined last April, I have never been on the end of a project. Should I sprint on one project to the one year mark, and then switch, or should I go for maybe a week on one and switch to let the PV's catch up? If you are able to return 10 CPUdays per calendar day, theoretically, you need 14, 17 and 27 calendar days to get your Emerald badge for HCC, HCMD2 anf HFCC respectively. If you run them in this sequence you will have finished HCC in 14 days from now, HCMD2 in 31 days and HFCC in 58 days. According to SekeRob's chart the end dates for these projects are estimated at 36, 43 and 76 days respectively, so you should be at ease and even have a reasonable margin for productivity adjustments. If you want to be safe and minimise the risk of computing too much for any project you can switch HCC and HCMD2 after 13 and 16 days, and then you should still have enough time to evaluate precisely how many more WUs of each you need to do the trick. Of course, watch for "last 30 days" announcements on the forum to make sure this plan is still OK, and that should be it. Happy badge hunting! ![]() |

I would like to thank everyone for the suggestions. Cjslman, I have been studying SekeRob's chart like a race sheet for the past week since I got my Ruby in HCMD.
gb009761, thank you for the info on HFCC being Zero Redundancy, for I had no idea it wasn't. Not wondering about PVs being valid will help in the final stretch. And I will be putting in the time and effort toting up the cumulative PVs so that I don't compute to much on one project in order to add that time to the next. I found that out when I stopped HCMD at 177 days for the Ruby, and then the PVs carried on to 191 days. JmBoullier, thank you for the calculations and reassurance. I am going to go with HCC, HCMD2, and then HFCC, all the while adding up what I have in PVs. I will try for 12 days on HCC, 15 on HCMD2, and, like you said, should have enough time while doing HFCC to make up any lost time. Um, at least that's the plan for now. Like everyone else, I'll be watching for the last 30 days announcement. Thanks for help and support everyone! |

curious has anyone seen a parent higher than 2299? I haven't yet. I guess it's just that we're in a run of child/grandchild batches, which seem to have a higher priority than parent batches in the feeder. |

I calculated that I might have already all the wus needed to bring me to sapphire, maybe I will return some or get an handful more, so I wanted to wish good luck to all the badge hunters in this last stint.
See you in the other thread, when celebrating the new sapphire! |
