Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I wonder if Owen Paterson will be as effective as his predecessor at instantly curtailing droughts wink

Maybe if he could boldly claim the flooding would last until at least Christmas it might brighten up a bit biggrin

Who would have thunk wink

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/sep/...rming-fanatics-take-note/

note we are rapidly approaching the warm peak of the current sunspot/solar activity cycle.

Note also that this peak is about 50% the previous one.

Note where the CET graph is heading

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

In 2009, the federal government fined ExxonMobil $600,000 for the unintentional deaths of 85 birds in five states during a five-year period.

Meanwhile, well over 500,000 birds and countless bats are killed annually by wind turbines, according to the US Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) and other experts. The slaughter “could easily be over 500” golden eagles a year in our western states, says Save the Eagles International biologist Jim Wiegand. http://www.cfact.org/a/2156/Wind-energys-bird...2012&utm_medium=email

Absolutely nothing to do with the Sun our Climate !

Here's yet another paper claiming (How could we have thought otherwise?) that changes in the Sun over the Solar Cycle affect our Climate

http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/pip/2011JD017390.shtml

Is the Sun a constant Sek? Is the only variable CO2 which, by extrapolation, will doom us all?

Who's being naive Sek?

You, and your ilk, or me?

Sleep well

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Dear Sek

By utilising the output of 3 different satellites without any cross calibration periods over the last 12 months the 2012 Arctic Sea Ice Minima is really going to take some beating

http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent_prev.htm

For those of us not buying your doom this is good news.

Take Usain Bolt... he doesn't want to run his fastest ever race today, he wants to pace it out so that he has a long career getting better and better. At the moment in each race he just walks over the line, he's not stupid, he's already a hero just by turning up.

Sek tell me why these images show such a different picture

http://ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/satellite/index.uk.php

http://home.comcast.net/~ewerme/wuwt/cryo_latest.jpg

It's all down to filtering

If you want the greatest Sea Ice loss (ever) you can have it. All you have to do is turn the dials, a bit more contrast here, ignore all the ice below 30% ish - piece of cake.

While you are focusing on the North Pole at, for it, the very worst point in it's annual cycle would you care to point out to the good People of Planet Earth what is happening at the South Pole thinking

Or are you really that stuck in your self willed nightmare? You keep up highlighting the weather extremes and I'll keep looking at the norms.

2012 makes it so much easier for the pragmatist

Dave
