What caused the Great North Polar Sea Ice Loss of 2012

Extra warmth caused by 0.039241% of the atmosphere now being CO2?

Not if you watch this video by NASA..... storms i.e. the weather - the Wind breaking up the ice on water

This is why the Great North Polar Sea Ice Loss of 2012 is such great news

We will now be able to say look how much Sea Ice there is compared with the minima of 2012 biggrin

According to 1 of the 3 different Satellites used this year to measure the Sea Ice Extent it got down to 3,489,063 sq kms which is only 106% the size of India or 11.6 Italy's or 14.4 UK's or 114 Belgium's ... at a minimum.

Now let's sit back and watch the greatest return of North Polar Sea Ice ever seen during September.... it might even be ... alarming wink

You should really take a look at the other end of the Planet you might be surprised what is happening down there whistling

Something incredible

here's a snap of the global thermometers database from 2011

As you can see the 30 day average temperature dipped below 20C on the 21st September at 7am

fast forward a year ....

The raw unadjusted data straight from the NOAA weather stations 2557 in the last hour

The thirty day average temperature is the average from over 1.8 million individual temperature measurements taken from weather stations around the globe

.and in 2011 and 2012 it dipped below 20C for the first time when?

The Dirty Little Secret About Arctic Ice
Posted on September 23, 2012

The vast majority of multi-year ice is lost during the winter, not the summer. Winter winds blow the thick ice out into the North Atlantic where it melts when it contacts warmer water.

Between 1988 and 1996, two thirds of the five year old ice disappeared. http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2012/09/23...-secret-about-arctic-ice/

It's a small World

You know I am a Telecom Engineer and not in the pay of "Big Oil"
I work for a ISP based in Gloucester

Well...

Last night was the company "do" and it turns out I have been working for the last couple of years with Sir George Simpson's Great Grandson!

That's his great Granddad in the picture.

What are the chances !!!!!

He appears weekly on National Public Radio's sports program Only A Game

I guess that makes him an expert on climate change. Maybe he'll get a Nobel prize too. LMAO
