Thanks. I just got it running this weekend and doing benches but I did start it on WCG to see hwo it wou;d do and it's getting granted at a rate of 104,000-108,000 PPD or app 15,142 BOINC PPD at 4200mhz
Just turned it on WCG for the night at 4000 to see how it does..
It was an interesting build to say it gently.. biggrin

Thank you all.
It is just showing in a dual socket board what we already knew from the singles. That intelligent overclocking when you know the safety factors of the parts can bring a huge return.
These same chips on my SM board were doing just over 80,000PPD so an increase of 20,000PPD and over the course of a year thats an additional 7,300,000 points and the added work being done that those points represent.
Even at 4000mhz the machine is runnig well within designed parameters.
Loaded temps in the mid 50'sC
Vcore at 1.4v, VTT at 1.35,Vdimm at 1.65..
All "safe" numbers for these cpu's..

You might get a kick out of this: biggrin
Essentially 11 hours and 21 minutes of work:
Statistics
Date.. Total Run Time.. Points Generated Results Returned
3/17/10 0:011:21:33:56.... 48,124.................. 76

Re: This is for bbover and the IBM guys ..

Thank's Movieman. A very interesting thread and for you a long adventure. Many thanks to share with us. It has given me a sound base to study my dualie. The problem is that I will have to do with what I will be able to find here in Switzerland.

You achieved a regular 100'000 ppd with a dual socket. That is awesome. On a regular base it depends on projects and mixes of projects but in average on my machines I get around 28'000 to 30'000 points. This is with air cooling and at 3.6 Ghz max.
I have just received a pair of i7 980X Hexa Cores. I will put them on test this week end and let see what comes out. Will keep you posted.

You should be able to get at least 40,000PPD from the 980's, more on water cooling or where you are just step outside, take a "short" hike into those small "hills" you have and the temps should be very good! laughing

This has been sort of a long journey for me.
Since I got into dual socket machines back in 2003 I've looked for a board that had the ability to adjust to get the most from the system.
As I mentioned in my thread at Xs it was a simple email that started this.
It took Peter Tan's(Shamino) foresight and EVGA's willingness to take a risk to make this happen.
I say that not to give them a "smooch" on the backside but with the realisation that in todays business world this was a big investment in time and money for them and then think of today's economy.
Brave people IMHO and I shall always be thankfull to them for taking that step when others wouldn't.
When I was thinking of what to name this machine I thought of all the normal things like Beastzilla, etc and then came to me my ffiend Jon Magoon.
He's posted here over time and lost his battle with Bladder cancer last December 28.
He loved to play with the hardware and became a "darned" decent overclocker.
I thought it fitting to name the first machine capable of 100,000PPD in his name so this is named " In memory of Jon Magoon"

Honestly, I think he'd like that.

The word"******" is not profane in todays world so please educate yourself before editing my posts please.
Thank you.
