Re: Nutritious Rice for the World - 30 days left of new work

I need 100 days, and I'm running 10 cores... I don't think I'm going to make it...

Why not? If you set your cache up to 10 days, which applies to each core, you come up to exactly 100 days... I worth a try... wink

Re: Nutritious Rice for the World - 30 days left of new work

Agree.
If you are running 24/7 you have no problem \
+ NRW has constant runtime so no need extra WU
+ there will be some wokr in next days as uplinger mentioned
+ you get credit and runtime if you deliver WU after deadline, but not too much
so go and get your badge

Betting 10 Quatloos, that when the parent batches e.g. R00627 have been run and the 120,000 seeds have not been computed more children will be generated [See the Uplinger explanations]. Given the last minute stashing it may take a day or two before those start rolling... let's call it intermittent now :P

Good morning world, it's summer time and that copper disc in the sky is confirming with it's angle of light emission.

I didn't get around to reading this reply until maybe too late. I had my 8 core caching 9 days, and my other two PCs only caching 8 because I was afraid they'd be returning results too late. I didn't do all the math, but it looks like it's going to be REAL close. It's a real nail biter now!

pball1224,
The beauty of NRW is that it's REAL simple to calculate the maths cool

Take a base starting point (i.e. after the stats have run - be it, the midnight or midday ones - I'm guessing, the midnight ones will be easier for you, being in the States, as it'll only be the early evening over there for you). Count out how many 'In Progress' you've got in your RS page and mulltiply that by 7. That'll give you the total number of hours still to return, which, hopefully, when added to your latest Statistics total, will get you over that final hurdle.

Of course, as stated, there are the 'retreads' which you may be able to pick up (for these, you'll need at least 1 computer in the 'reliable' class) - so I'd reduce your cache on at least 1 machine to (say) 1 day or less.

Good luck good luck

I have 7 pages IP and only 22 days are still needed. If everything goes ok, I try to remember to abort those 8 extra days to give you guys a change biggrin
