Wondering whether I'm typing white on white? I don't have a reveal button for you. The matrices and FAQ's have been updated to reflect how WCG works. Nothing further to add.

Also, I might add, throwing cycles at this project takes them away from other projects. Think of how much we are doing for the other projects while we are forced to wait! Ummm... not really. Lots of people do 'set it and forget it' and are unaware that DDDT-2 is out of work atm. So their stats pages currently look kind of like: ![]() With the tiny amounts trickling in on the right: PVs finally being bought off, beta WUs validating, and an off-site computer or 2 running the lowest-bandwidth tasks (HCC & FA@H). |

I've read that it was discussed as to whether DDDT2 ought to go in the "Intermittent" class of projects or not, and I bet some are now regretting that decision...
----------------------------------------Perhaps, if it was moved, then that'd for once and for all, convince people that this project is different from all the rest... ![]() |

My interpretation is that the progress, or lack there off, by sticking to the best grid efficiency was a conscious decision. It might be different were the latest client version stable and widely installed, in combo with the latest BOINC server version. Neither is. By my calculations I have crunched close to 2800 WU since the start of the dddt2 project and have only received 4 WU from dddt2. Efficient? More like non-existent. It provides another meaning to the word Intermittent |

Whatever interpretation you wish to give the quote of my post, it was directed at the suggestion to send out more copies per result, than cancel the spares. Not going to share what I think of extra copies, particularly when it relates to the 30-100+ hours types. Both views have already been given.

Hi there.
I have an intel quad core cpu and I've never ever been lucky enough to get any dengue work units at all. You mention setting my cache size. How do I do this? Thanks |

@whocrazy -- you can change chache size in boinc manager: >advanced >preferences >network usage >additional work buffer. here you can set how much additional work unites will be downladed (in days). (if you don't see any of these menus, you have to disselect the "simple view" first). although i don't think, changing this value will affect the probability of catching dddt2 units. i select dddt2 as my sole project - and only if there are none, i temporarily select another project, download some units and disselect again, over and over again. this sure is quite annoying yet, but seems to work best for me...

well, right at the moment i was writing the post, i got some DDDT2 Beta's :) Ok, when there is a message coming: "There was work, but it was sent to another platform", then lowering cache size seems indeed to rule :D
Btw. i wonder why there are dddt2 betas at all... hummm... |

Btw. i wonder why there are dddt2 betas at all... Because, once the project was launched, small tweaks were required - which is one reason why there's not been as much work as people would have liked... Hopefully, these tests will prove fruitful, and then more DDDT2 WU's can be released ![]() ![]() |

This beta, after a successful Type B test, a C-Type test from work seeded by those B types.
