Um, the four wu I got this afternoon have a 20-day deadline and a replication of only 2. Once I spotted them I suspended my other WCG work so these can get done soonest, but no idea of the state of my crunching partner. wus are ts02_a490,491,495,498_ps0000 Thanks - we missed a few. These have been modified as well now. |

now my question is - if 2 results come back before mine, will the server abort? It will definitely be in progress by that time; in fact it should be close to being done. Once a workunit has identified the canonical result (i.e. the validation process has run successfully) then any other computer who has a result assigned to them from that workunit will receive the message 'abort if not started' when that computer contacts the server. This means that if your computer is already working on the result, it will continue working on it. If you computer hasn't started it yet, then it will be aborted. |

I've posted a provisional update of Matrix in the Start Here forum and added a few columns which I'm hoping to fixed up with permanent data.
----------------------------------------Standard/Repair Deadlines A Type 20/8 B Type 8/3.2 C Type 10/4 Reliability Return period and Valid Result Series columns were added. Previously knew of 4 days and 15 valid sequential results, it not 100% transparent to me what the DDDT-2 A/B are, thinking C will be same as all other WCG projects.

Got one WU this time.
----------------------------------------Replication is 4, Quorum 2. And the deadlines are different: ts02_ a395_ ps0000_ 3-- - In Progress 10.03.10 14:43:57 18.03.10 14:43:57 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 <--- Me ts02_ a395_ ps0000_ 2-- - In Progress 10.03.10 14:43:47 18.03.10 14:43:47 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 ts02_ a395_ ps0000_ 1-- - In Progress 09.03.10 23:14:14 29.03.10 23:14:14 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 ts02_ a395_ ps0000_ 0-- - In Progress 09.03.10 23:14:05 29.03.10 23:14:05 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 So what is the metric behind those different deadlines? 20 days for reliable hosts, 8 for reliable fast returners? Just interersted in ![]() I am happy to have gotten at least this single one. EDIT: Just saw Sekerobs Posting above. Does that mean, that you send repair units before there is something to repair? Roundup, read earlier on in this thread...
----------------------------------------Basically, a mistake was made in sending them out for a start (i.e., not sent as "repair" work - and thus, a 20 day deadline, then, they were reissued, this time as "repair" work, with an 8 day deadline). ![]() |

Roundup, if you read the thread, the initial circulation of this set of jobs had the wrong priority and deadline, hence 2 extra copies.

[banter mode] Think that would then be 100 extra push ups (of valid results) at the back end, should you ever consider quitting WCG [/banter mode]
