Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Thanks, Uplinger, for the clarification as I have two WUs that show error but really have processing time that was recorded. As for all the other I see being talked about, I haven't gotten any WUs for some time (I have a total of 15) and I have 4 computers with a total of 12 cores running 24 hours a day. My cache is set to 0.5 days so if any work becomes available I should be able to get it. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get more DDDT-2 WUs?

yup,
wait for the rain of C types,
then increase your cache to 1.5 days or so and you will
get buckets of them (I got like 200 when I did that).
Just means you have to babysit and look for the rain.

EDIT: of course deselect other projects B4 you increase
your cache otherwise, you get a lot of what you were
already doing.

Also remember to uncheck this box,

  • If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project.
Otherwise you will end up with few tasks or quite possibly no beta/DDDT2 work smile

Let it be someone else this time to draft the FAQ... the one who had the proposition maybe :O). Then a second/third pair of eyes can fill in and when honed, insert it into the SHFs.

I thought about that as I made the suggestion, but I was having difficulty making sense of all the postings. I could give it a try.

Cheers coffee

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

X-files, as announced in this post, it'll more likely be 2-3 weeks before there's any rain clouds on the horizon... So, unfortunately, a little more patience is required cool

I'm sure that the techs and scientists are as keen as us to get this waterfall flowing on a more regular/steady process - although I'm sure we all want it to flow with pure clean water, not with any impurities/additives in it biggrin

I think X-files' is actually referring to that post by uplinger, which appewared on 14 April (exactly 2 weeks ago), so there should be only 0 to 1 week of waiting left now.

Hence X-files' question is reasonable: Will there be any rain this week?

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I do not have any cloud seeds at this time. I did ask when I would get these seeds and we may have something later this week. Nothing major, so drought will continue.

I do not mind the questions, and everyone's attitude towards this is very pleasant. I do agree with everyone a steady rainfall would be nice, but no reason to push the researchers beyond reason or scope of their project.

As always, Thanks!

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Said Hanrahan
Monsignore PJ Hartigan © by John O'Brien

"We'll all be rooned," said Hanrahan in accents most forlorn,
Outside the church, ere Mass began one frosty Sunday morn.
The congregation stood about coat-collars to the ears,
And talked of stock, and crops, and drought as it had done for years.
"It's looking crook," said Daniel Croke; "Bedad, it's cruke, me lad,
For never since the banks went broke has seasons been so bad."

"It's dry, all right," said young O'Neil, with which astute remark
He squatted down upon his heel and chewed a piece of bark.
And so around the chorus ran, "It's keepin' dry, no doubt."
"We'll all be rooned," said Hanrahan, "Before the year is out."
"The crops are done; ye'll have your work to save one bag of grain;
From here way out to Back-o'-Bourke they're singin' out for rain.

"They're singin' out for rain," he said, "And all the tanks are dry."
The congregation scratched its head, and gazed around the sky.
"There won't be grass, in any case, enough to feed an ass;
There's not a blade on Casey's place as I came down to Mass."
"If rain don't come this month," said Dan, and cleared his throat to speak -
"We'll all be rooned," said Hanrahan, "If rain don't come this week."

.......continues ....
